Arthur & George
Monday 9th March, 9pm
The three-part adaptation of Julian Barnes’s novel, based on the real
events surrounding the relationship between Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
(Martin Clunes) and George Edalji (Arsher Ali), a man sentenced to
prison in 1903 for a crime for which he maintained his innocence,
continues. In episode two, after their assailant escapes, Arthur,
Woodie (Charles Edwards) and the Edaljis are surprised by the arrival
of George at the vicarage. His boots are covered in mud, which leads
Woodie to suspect that he is after all the Wyrley Ripper. But Arthur is
not convinced and believes that George has been the victim of racial
prejudice – and quite possibly police corruption too. Feathers are
ruffled as Arthur visits the police officers who investigated the case
and goes over their evidence. He and Woodie are stopped dead in
their tracks as it appears that someone is warning them to keep their
noses out. Then the local blacksmith, who also received poison pen
letters, is found dead. Suspecting that the Wyrley Ripper has claimed
another victim, Arthur is furious when the policeman who initially targeted George maintains that the
death was accidental. Woodie is also disturbed and urges Arthur to drop the matter and return
home, feeling that they may be getting in too deep. But Arthur will have none of it, although he too
begins to have doubts as George seems to be hanging around with known criminals. Is the whole
exercise merely becoming a way for Arthur to assuage his own guilty conscience over the death of
his wife? Also starring Conleth Hill, Art Malik, Emma Fielding and Hattie Morahan.
Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway
Saturday 7th March, 7pm
Fresh from receiving their 14th consecutive
National Television Award for most popular
entertainment presenters, Ant and Dec continue
with their fun-packed Saturday evening
entertainment show. The show returned to
screens in 2013 following a four-year hiatus,
cementing its place as one of the most popular
programmes on ITV with even more star guests,
nail-biting challenges and hilarious sketches
than ever before. Unsuspecting viewers and
audience members are invited to take part in
some wacky challenges, win some fantastic
prizes, and occasionally meet some very
famous faces. In the main game towards the
end of the show, one lucky person from the
studio audience is randomly selected for a
chance to ‘win the ads’, in which prizes are
selected from one of ITV’s commercial breaks
and can range in value from toilet rolls and
boxes of cereal to brand new cars and luxury
holidays.
This week, Rob Brydon occupies the booth as
tonight’s celebrity star announcer, Little Ant and
Dec meet pop superstars Take That, while talk
show host Jeremy Kyle is under the boys’
control in the hilarious I’m a Celebrity... Get Out
of Me Ear! There’s also another round of Ant vs
Dec and The End of the Show Show will see
more big names performing alongside the upfor-anything Geordie duo.

DCI Banks
Wednesday 11th March, 9pm
The critically acclaimed crime drama, based on the
novels by Peter Robinson, and starring Stephen
Tompkinson as Banks, continues with the conclusion of
the two-part story, What Will Survive? The team are
dismayed to discover that the arson attack has injured
Michael Osgood (Steve Toussaint) and killed his
autistic son, Robbie. DI Helen Morton (Caroline Catz)
and DS Annie Cabbot (Andrea Lowe) question Gary
McCready (Charlie Heaton), the local lad who was
bullying Robbie. The investigation into the murder of
Katrin Vesik and the disappearance of her sister Annika
continues. The police are intrigued when the body of an
older man who died of natural causes is found buried near Katrin’s grave. When DC Ken Blackstone
(Jack Deam) discovers new evidence about the fire, Banks presses Michael for further information.
Suspecting that Jason McCready (Darren Morfitt) may have abducted Annika, Banks discovers a
shocking secret that he has been keeping. Jason is arrested and questioned over the burial of the
dead man and the murder of Katrin, which he flatly denies. Forensics prove that Jason transported
Katrin’s body, but does this mean that he is the murderer? Banks makes a moving speech at his
mother’s funeral, where he shares a bonding moment with both Annie and his father (Keith Barron).
More Tales from Northumberland with
Robson Green
Monday 9th March, 8pm
Popular actor Robson Green

out why the area is considered
one of Britain’s best-kept

even he did not know existed from secluded valleys and
mystical ruins to the
hidden history of some
little-known castles and
stately homes. Robson
also takes on more
exciting new
challenges, including
shipwreck diving at the
Farne Islands, wild
camping in the Cheviot

Roman relics at Hadrian’s Wall.
In this episode, Robson heads
to the Farne Islands to go
diving for shipwrecks and
discovers some mysterious
cannons and the wreck of a
ship sunk by the German
Luftwaffe in 1941. Robson also
finds out about the fascinating
Roman relics that have been
unearthed in the region, like the
Corbridge Hoard, discovered by
students in the 1960s, and the
Vindolanda Tablets, the oldest
handwritten documents ever
found in Britain. Finally, Robson
visits the Holy Island of
Lindisfarne to learn about the
Viking invasion of the island
and hears about the legacy left
behind by the Norse invaders.

Take Me Out
Saturday 7th March, 8.25pm
Paddy McGuinness concludes the seventh series of
the hit dating show, playing cupid once again as he
tries to find love matches for a quartet of eligible
bachelors. Thirty single and sassy ladies are hoping to
be impressed by whoever descends in the famous love
lift. The gents each offer the girls a unique insight into
their lives, quirks, passions and skills in the hope of
winning a dream date on the sun-soaked Isle of
Fernandos. Each of Paddy’s 30 girls controls a light
which they can switch off if they don’t like what they
see. None of the boys want to join the blackout club –
the name given to the unfortunate group of chaps who have failed to keep at least one woman
interested until the end of their pitch – so they will be doing their utmost to put on a good show.
Since 2010, the show has been responsible for three engagements, two weddings and a baby
called Freddie, with another Take Me Out tot due later this year. This week in the final episode in
the series, the four lads hoping to sweep the girls off their feet are hotel receptionist Leslie from
Belfast, plumber Alan from Pontefract, construction worker Cole from Darlington, and model Pete
from Cornwall. There is also a chance to see how last week’s couples got on with their dates on the
Isle Of Fernandos.
Bear Grylls: Mission Survive
Friday 13th March, 9pm
Bear Grylls continues the series
which features eight celebrities
trekking through the rainforest
of Costa Rica on a 12-day
adventure. Bear gives the
group daily briefings but they
must complete the exercise
without him. Survival expert
Megan Hine and former
commando Scott Heffield are
on the ground to report on
everyone’s progress. The
theme of the show is to push
the participants to their physical
and emotional limits as they
search out the four elements
vital for survival – shelter,
water, fire and food to
supplement their meagre army
rations. The jungle has already
taken its toll, with one of
the group suffering from
mosquito bites and
another with trenchfoot.
This week, Bear
introduces the group to
a two-mile cave system
and demonstrates how
to obtain vital zinc from
a jungle source – in this
case tarantulas! One
member of the team
ITV.com
discovers a freshly killed pig in
one of the caves and brings it
back in triumph to his mates –
delighted at the prospect of a
hog roast. The following day
starts with a helicopter transfer
to the Pacific Coast, to the
largest river in Costa Rica – the
Tempisque. The celebrities’
mission seems simple – get
across the river safely. But the
river is home to more than
2,000 crocodiles and avoiding
them means crossing where
the water is at its fiercest. It is
their last chance to impress
Bear before elimination. Who is
emerging as a hero? Who is
making too many mistakes?
And who will demonstrate the
cheerfulness in adversity that
Bear is looking for?
Week 10/11
Mr Selfridge
7th - 13th
March 2015
Sunday 8th March, 9pm
The period drama about the life of Harry Gordon
Selfridge, the flamboyant and charismatic but
ultimately vulnerable American entrepreneur who
founded the world-famous department store on
Oxford Street, continues its third series. The opening
of Selfridges in 1909 marked a revolution in retailing
in an era that saw a seismic shift in the world order.
Class distinctions were becoming blurred, American
heiresses were saving ancient English noble families
and women everywhere were demanding their rights.
Series three sees the action move to the aftermath of
the Great War, after the franchise has been extended to nearly all adult men and a limited number
of women. In episode seven, Harry (Jeremy Piven) continues his romance with Nancy (Kelly
Adams) but she is starting to feel the weight of her deception. Mr Grove (Tom Goodman-Hill) is
struggling as he tries to face up to recent events. Miss Mardle (Amanda Abbington) stands by him
and offers her support, but beneath the surface she is racked with guilt. Victor (Trystan Gravelle)
and Violette (Hannah Tointon) take a romantic trip to the seaside but reality soon hits home. Harry
finds himself pushed into a corner when he comes up against Loxley (Aidan McArdle) at a
shareholders’ meeting. George (Calum Callaghan) is growing increasingly unhappy at the club.
When Mr Grove finds out the truth from Miss Mardle, he makes a rash decision.

UEFA Champions League Live: Real
Madrid v Schalke *
Tuesday 10th March, 7.30pm
Last season’s UEFA Champions League winners
Real Madrid will be hot favourites to win this tie
against Bundesliga team Schalke after winning the
first leg 2-0 in Germany. Goals by Cristiano Ronaldo
and an incredible strike by Marcelo might leave many
pundits thinking the tie was all but over, but in fact
the German side played much better than the score
might suggest – and also made a big improvement
on last season when they lost 6-1 to the same
opponents.
Last season they were sliced apart by the pace and
incisiveness of Madrid's forward trio Gareth Bale,
Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. Schalke were wiser to the dangers this time and showed a
discipline which has been typical of their recent Bundesliga efforts, offering Real few opportunities to
run in behind. Forced to play around them, the Spanish Liga leaders struggled to penetrate until
Ronaldo peeled away to head in Dani Carvajal's cross after 26 minutes. Much of the credit must go
to coach Roberto Di Matteo, who has worked hard to stabilise the inconsistent Schalke back line
since his arrival in October. If the Bundesliga side can turn the tie around against Carlo Ancelotti’s
all-star team, it will be one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the Champions League.
Big Star’s Little Star
Wednesday 11th March, 8pm
Stephen Mulhern presents another generous
helping of laughter in the comedy game show
which has run on ITV since September 2013.
The show sees three celebrity contestants and
their children – or grandchildren – answering
questions about each other to win up to £15,000
for a charity of their choice. In round one, the
celebrities (known as the 'Big Stars') are asked
the same multiple-choice questions as their
children (known as the 'Little Stars'), with their
aim being to give the same replies. Each of the
celebrities is given three questions in turn, with
the children's answers pre-recorded and shown
on-screen. In round two, the older contestants
watch a series of clips of their children
describing several everyday items, with the aim
being to identify what their offspring are talking
about. In round three, the celebrities and their
children are given three pictures. They are then
asked a question by Stephen about either one of
them – and both must answer. In the final round,
the winner and their child, who have already won
£5,000 for their chosen charity, play to treble the
sum by choosing pictures hidden behind 20
squares on a screen. After last week’s series
opener which featured Joe Swash, Sharron
Davies and Duncan Bannatyne with their little
stars, this week sees Ronan Keating and his
daughter Ali, Sheree Murphy and her daughter
Matilda and Carl Froch and his son Rocco
compete to win money for their charities.

All Star Family Fortunes
Sunday 8th March, 8pm
The current series of the popular game show
continues this Sunday, hosted by Vernon Kay. Two
more celebrities and their families go head-to-head
in a bid to win £30,000 for their respective good
causes. The teams must guess the most popular
answers to a series of seemingly easy questions,
which are based on a survey of 100 members of the
British public. Anyone familiar with the format knows
that this is not as easy as it sounds and that for one
team to come up with a full list of correct answers is
something of a rarity. The opposing team will be
ready to pounce with a make-or-break answer of their own, hoping to steal the cash prize for that
round. As a host, Vernon is never shy when it comes to digging out embarrassing photographs,
footage or information on the star contestants. The winning team has the opportunity to play for
£10,000, but the big challenge is identifying all five top answers to bag the full £30,000 jackpot in
the final Big Money round. With limited time, lots of pressure and some tricky questions, will the two
players selected from the winning team be able to second-guess the British public and secure the
full amount? This week, X Factor winner Sam Bailey and her nearest and dearest take on Loose
Woman Jamelia and her family in a bid to win up to £30,000 for their chosen charity. But which
family will second-guess the British public best and play for Big Money?
Mom
Monday 9th March, 9pm
Mom continues its second
season this week after first
hitting ITV2’s screens early last
year. The hit sitcom is the most
recent television comedy
project of Chuck Lorre, the
writer and producer behind
some of the biggest stateside
sitcoms over the past 25 years
including Roseanne, The Big
Bang Theory and ITV2’s other
US import Two and a Half Men.
The show stars Anna Faris as
Christy, an alcoholic single
mother of two whose newly
found sobriety gives her the
ability to see her life clearly the only problem being that she
does not like what
she sees. In the first
series, Christy dealt
with the
reappearance of her
estranged mother
Bonnie (Alison
Janney), her
teenage daughter’s
pregnancy and the
everyday temptation
she faced as a
ITV.com
resident of California’s Wine
Country. Emotions ran high as
Christy celebrated one year of
staying sober and watched her
daughter Violet give up her
newborn daughter for adoption.
Last week, Christy’s dangerous
new vice resulted in the family
becoming homeless after she
gambled away the rent money.
Monday’s double bill begins
with Chicken Nuggets and a
Triple Homicide, in which
Christy’s housing problem looks
set to be solved, but the new
home comes with a shady
history. The second show,
Forged Resumes and the
Recommended Dosage, sees
Christy and her daughter visit
the baby’s adoptive parents.

The Vampire Diaries
Wednesday 11th March, 9pm
The recently returned sixth season of the US
supernatural drama series continues this week on
ITV2. Co-created by teen drama king Kevin Williamson
(Scream, Dawson’s Creek) and based on novels by LJ
Smith, the series tells the story of Elena Gilbert (Nina
Dobrev), a resident of the small town of Mystic Falls,
Virginia. When she falls in love with a centuries-old
vampire named Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), she is
pulled into a dark underworld of vampires, werewolves
and other supernatural goings-on. Elena’s ongoing
attraction to Stefan’s dark, brooding brother Damon
(Ian Somerhalder) has only added to the teen’s problems. In the fifth series, Elena finally
succumbed to Damon’s charms, but their romance was short-lived when she left town and started
college. Each episode this series is named after a 90s song as the vampires recall their arrival in
Mystic Falls through a series of flashbacks. The previous season’s finale saw Damon and Elena’s
friend Bonnie (Kat Graham) making the ultimate sacrifice to bring back their friends from oblivion.
Ever since, Jeremy (Stephen R McQueen) and Elena have both been engaging in risky behaviour
as they struggle to cope with their losses. In this week’s eighth episode, entitled Fade Into You,
Caroline (Candice Accola) and Elena prepare to host ‘Friendsgiving’ at the dorm. Meanwhile, Kai
(Chris Wood) makes a dangerous discovery that brings him one step closer to his release.
The Only Way Is Essex
Sunday 8th and Wednesday 11th March, 10pm
The award-winning real life soap continues its
fourteenth series. As ever, the estuary guys and
girls lay bare their real lives, relationship highs
and lows, flashy lifestyles and fashion faux-pas
for all the world to see. The current series kicked
off in inimitable Essex style as Ferne and Danni
came to blows during a holiday in Tenerife – or
Tener-grief as the holiday shall henceforth be
known. We have now witnessed the aftermath
as the gang returned from their winter jaunt and
settled back in to Essex life, but what will
happen next? Whenever and wherever filming
takes place, drama is always on the cards as
friendships flounder, relationship woes abound
and bad behaviour - usually from the male
residents - leads to more confrontation and
heartbreak. With the show filmed very near to
transmission, ITVBe is the first and only place to
find out what Lydia, Lauren, Lewis, Gemma,
Bobby, Chloe, Ferne, Charlie and the rest have
really been up to in recent weeks. Chloe and
Elliott’s massive showdown in the first show is
sure to have an ongoing effect as the pair try to
move on from their rocky romance, while recent
conflicts between Ferne, Danni and Lydia look
set to rumble on for weeks to come. On a
positive note, Dan O will be showing off new
daughter Ella, hunky new boy Dan E may turn a
few heads and Georgia and Tommy will
hopefully continue to set a good example of how
relationships should work!

Paul O’Grady’s Animal Orphans
Wednesday 11th March, 9pm
Viewers are offered another chance to see this
three-part series in which animal lover Paul
O'Grady visits Zambia and South Africa on the
trail of young animals who have been orphaned
in the wild, either through the actions of
poachers or through modern farming methods
forcing them out of their natural habitats.
In the first programme, Paul visits the seabird
sanctuary run by the Southern African
Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal
Birds, on the south-western tip of South Africa.
The sanctuary cares for a variety of birds,
including penguins, who are now an
endangered species in Africa, with numbers
reduced by 75 per cent in recent years. Paul
then travels to Zambia, where his first stop is the
Lilayi elephant nursery. Paul is excited to meet a
group of baby elephants who have been rescued
after their parents were killed by poachers. He

soon falls head over heels for a six-month-old
calf called Nkala. Back in South Africa at the
Kruger National Park's animal rehabilitation
centre of Moholoholo, Paul learns how lion cubs
who have been rejected by their mother are
being looked after.
Thursday 12th March, 5.30pm
ITV4 continues its coverage of the UEFA Europa League with a live match from the first leg games
of the round of 16 and the prize of reaching the final in Warsaw in May creeping ever closer. There
is still plenty of British interest in the competition, with Liverpool joining the knockout stages
following their exit from the Champions League. They join their old rivals Everton as well as
Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic from north of the border. Both Merseyside teams have probably not
lived up to their pre-season expectations,
particularly Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool side
who went agonisingly close to winning the
Premiership last year. Their recent results,
however, have shown signs of resurgence.
Their neighbours Everton have had an even
more disappointing season but have saved
their best football for the Europa League,
winning their group and remaining unbeaten.
Tottenham, on the other hand, are still in with
a realistic chance of playing Champions
League football next year, and manager
Mauricio Pochettino will need to consider his
priorities.

Agatha Christie’s Poirot
Monday 9th - Friday 13th March, 6.55pm
ITV Encore offers viewers another chance to see episodes from
series three and five of Agatha Christie’s crime drama with David
Suchet in the role of the diminutive Belgian sleuth. In the first
episode, The Theft of the Royal Ruby, Poirot is looking forward to

the Foreign Office have a rather different interpretation of Season's
Greetings. The Affair at the Victory Ball sees Poirot asked to attend
a masquerade ball and advised to come as someone famous - so
he decides to go as himself. During the party, a peer is murdered
and only a fragment of a costume is left to help Poirot unmask the
killer. In The Mystery of Hunter’s Lodge, Poirot reluctantly joins
Hastings for a grouse shoot, but one of their party is murdered.
Poirot has to investigate the killing while confined to bed with a
severe cold. In The Adventure of the Egyptian Tomb, a team of
international archaeologists in Egypt break the seal of the tomb of King Men-Her-Ra for the first time
in 3,000 years. Moments later, the leader of the group, Sir John Willard (Peter Reeves) drops dead
of a heart attack. Was Sir John the victim of the tomb's legendary curse? Finally in The Underdog, a
wealthy industrialist is found dead in his study. Is his death related to a discovery made at his
chemical factory? And is his wife all she seems? The series also stars Hugh Fraser as Captain
Hastings and Philip Jackson as Chief Inspector Japp.
