Midsomer Murders
31st January 6th February
2015
Wednesday 4th February, 9pm
The crime drama series set in England’s most
murderous county continues its 17th series of four twohour episodes. Despite its picture postcard setting, more
than 300 people have died before their time in
Midsomer and its surrounding villages. Neil Dudgeon
and Gwilym Lee again fill the roles of DCI John Barnaby
and DS Charlie Nelson, with Tamzin Malleson as
pathologist Dr Kate Wilding. In this episode, Murder by
Magic, a pub landlady is crushed to death by a giant
perspex box during a magic show organised by famous
illusionist Gideon Latimer (Andrew-Lee Potts). Kate finds
that cables to the box were deliberately sabotaged. Evangelising curate Andrew Maplin (Justin
Salinger) tells vicar Magnus Soane (Jack Shepherd) that the tragedy is God’s vengeance for the
pagan traditions still held deep in Midsomer Oaks, but Barnaby and Nelson fear that Gideon was
the real target. Andrew tries to perform an exorcism but the very next day he is found stabbed to
death – surrounded by signs of a pagan ritual murder. Nearby is the grave of Sir Hugo Melmoth,
who according to legend threw himself on a fire in an act of self-sacrifice. Barnaby and Nelson race
to the pagan temple, where Gideon is performing another magic trick in which he is put into a crate
over a burning pyre. As firefighters douse the flames, the effectiveness of the illusion becomes
apparent. Also starring Joe Absolom (pictured centre), Amanda Burton and Stephanie Leonidas.
Mr Selfridge
Sunday 1st February, 9pm
The period drama about the life of Harry Gordon
Selfridge, the flamboyant and charismatic but
ultimately vulnerable American entrepreneur
who founded the world-famous department
store on Oxford Street, continues its third series.
The opening of Selfridges in 1909 marked a
revolution in retailing in an era which saw a
seismic shift in the social order. Class
distinctions were becoming blurred, American
heiresses were saving the ancient English
nobility and women everywhere were
demanding their rights. Series one and two
were set in the late Edwardian period and the
Great War and the action now moves on to
1919. While Harry (Jeremy Piven) decides to
pursue a new charitable project, Crabb (Ron
Cook) is faced with a massive professional
dilemma. The biggest fashion event in store
since the end of the war is proving a major
challenge for the staff, and an exclusive contract
with the famous Parisian fashion house of
Lanvin hangs in the balance. As Rosalie (Kara
Tointon) begins married life with Serge (Leon
Ockenden), a frustrated Violette (Hannah
Tointon) is bored and looking for something to
do. Miss Mardle (Amanda Abbington) decides to
make a fresh start, Agnes (Aisling Loftus) faces
an unexpected challenge very close to home,
and Loxley (Aidan McArdle) begins to make
trouble for Harry.

Week 05/06
Broadchurch
31st January 6th February
2015
Monday 2nd February, 9pm
The critically acclaimed award-winning drama series
continues its brand new second series, once again
starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman (who won
a BAFTA for her role in the first series) and written
by Chris Chibnall. The first series saw the murder of
11-year-old Danny Latimer rock the small Dorset
town of Broadchurch, as DI Alec Hardy (Tennant) –
still haunted by the collapse of a previous murder
case he worked on – was put in charge of the case,
much to the chagrin of local officer DS Ellie Miller
(Colman). Their investigation saw many townspeople
come under suspicion, including Danny’s father Mark (Andrew Buchan), but after many twists and
turns, the revelation of the killer’s identity had far-reaching consequences, not least for the two
detectives. Along with Tennant, Colman and Buchan, Jodie Whittaker returns as Beth Latimer and
Arthur Darvill as the Reverend Paul Coates, while the second series sees Charlotte Rampling,
Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Eve Myles and James D’Arcy join the cast. So far in the new series we
have seen Joe Miller (Matthew Gravelle) plead not guilty to the murder of Danny at his trial, while
the shadow of Hardy’s former murder case in Sandbrook continues to haunt him. What mysteries
will unfold and what secrets will be revealed in this week’s gripping episode?
All Star Family Fortunes
Sunday 1st February, 8.15pm
The current series of the
popular game show continues
this Sunday, hosted as always
by Vernon Kay. Two more
celebrity-led families go headto-head in a bid to win £30,000
for their respective good
causes. The teams must guess
the most popular answers to a
series of seemingly easy
questions, which are based on
a survey of 100 members of the
British public. Anyone familiar
with the format knows that this
is not as easy as it sounds and
that for one team to come up
with a full list of
correct answers
is something of a
rarity. The
opposing team
will be ready to
pounce with a
make-or-break
answer of their
own, hoping to
steal the cash
prize for that
round. As a host,
Vernon is never
ITV.com
shy when it comes to digging
out embarrassing photographs,
footage or information on the
star contestants. The winning
team has the opportunity to
play for £10,000, but the big
challenge is identifying all five
top answers to bag the full
£30,000 jackpot in the final Big
Money round. With limited time,
lots of pressure and some
tricky questions, will the two
players selected from the
winning team be able to
second-guess the British public
and secure the full amount?
This week, daredevil television
presenter Helen Skelton and
her family compete against Irish
singer Daniel O’Donnell and his
clan. Who will be playing for big
money this time?
Week 05/06
Harry Hill’s Stars in Their Eyes
31st January 6th February
2015
Saturday 31st January, 6.30pm
Comic favourite Harry Hill continues his return to
Saturday nights as he gives the transformation
show Stars In Their Eyes a makeover of its own.
Each week, five members of the public are once
again getting the chance to utter those famous
words: 'Tonight, Harry, I'm going to be...' before
walking through the smoky doors and emerging
seconds later as their favourite performer. The
original series, based on a Dutch programme,
began on ITV back in 1990, hosted by Leslie
Crowther, although the show's golden period saw
the helm taken over by Mathew Kelly, who
oversaw hundreds of soundalikes passing through
that famous doorway between 1993 and 2005. Surreal comedy hero Harry, the man behind ITV's
Saturday night classic TV Burp, adds a new and refreshing dimension to the tried and tested format.
The winner of each show will go through to a Not Live Final with the chance to pick up the coveted
Stars In Their Eyes trophy. Previous series pulled in huge audiences each year for the finals and
Harry will be hoping for the same reception. Who will be dressed to impress with their performances
this week?
Benidorm
Friday 6th February, 9pm
Series seven of the sitcom
about the staff and guests at
the Solana Resort on the Costa
del Sol continues. Following
Group CEO Crystal HennessyVass’s whirlwind visit and the
ensuing bombshell, a dejected
and jobless Joyce (Sherrie
Hewson) is attempting to relax
by the pool, but her morning is
ruined when new manager
Janey (Crissy Rock) reinstates
the decidedly dodgy Jason
Gallagher (Philip Olivier) as the
Solana's bar manager. Janey
and Jason are sorting through
the Solana's post, and when
they find a letter offering Joyce
a new job, they come
up with a despicable
plan. Geoff/The
Oracle (Johnny
Vegas) and Noreen
(Elsie Kelly) get
stuck in the lift, and
mother and son
spend the day having
a heart-to-heart and
finally opening up to
each other about
their feelings. Jason
ITV.com
the barman takes advantage of
Geoff's absence to make a
move on his Romanian fiancee
Ionela (Milanka Brooks) and by
the time Geoff and Noreen
have been freed, Ionela has
fallen for Jason’s charms. Clive

in search of wifi and is chatted
up by Melanie (Nadia
Sawalha), a holiday home
saleswoman. She lures Clive
into visiting a development,
where he meets Monty (John
Challis) – and ends up being
swindled out of 5,000 euros.
Back at the pool, Clive’s son

Week 05/06
Planet’s Got Talent
31st January 6th February
2015
Saturday 31st January, 7.30pm
Actor and presenter Warwick Davis
(Celebrity Squares, Weekend
Escapes, Life’s Too Short) narrates
this new series which takes a
whirlwind tour of the world's
biggest reality show. Having begun
life as America’s Got Talent back in
2006, there have now been almost
60 incarnations of the popular
series across the globe, and
Guinness World Records now
recognises the talent contest as the
biggest reality TV format ever. From
Indonesia to Iceland, Bulgaria to Brazil and China to Chile, the programme highlights some of the
very best and worst acts that the world has to offer. This week’s featured acts include some very
bendy Chinese men, a 6-year-old dancing policeman, a German whose entire act consists of
covering himself in shaving foam, a cowboy with incredible rope skills, and a man who extinguishes
candles by squirting water from his eyes. Here in Britain’s Got Talent, we pride ourselves on
showcasing the most eccentric acts out there, but this show goes to prove that there are some
equally zany, hilarious and downright bizarre talents in every corner of the globe!
The Jonathan Ross Show
Saturday 31st January, 9.20pm
The Saturday night chat show
continues its eighth series as
the nation’s favourite
interviewer welcomes another
range of celebrity guests.
Jonathan’s first guests on this
week’s show are presenting
duo Mel Giedroyc and Sue
Perkins. Beginning their career
as a comedy double act, the
pair soon found their niche as
irreverent presenters of the cult
daytime show Late Lunch,
moving on to host the hit show
The Great British Bake-Off and
recently returning to the familiar

environment for ITV
with their new show

At home both on the stage and

About My Mother and the TV
series Mother Love and Game
of Thrones. Finally, Jonathan
chats to comedian Johnny
Vegas, who has enjoyed a long
career on the stand-up circuit
as well as starring in cult sitcom
Ideal. His most recent
appearances have been in Still
Open All Hours and the 7th
series of the hit comedy
Benidorm.
Week 05/06
Bad Builders: Bang to Rights
31st January 6th February
2015
Tuesday 3rd February, 8pm
The three-part series in which consumer champion
Dominic Littlewood confronts dodgy builders, meets
the people whose lives they have ruined and helps
to repair the damage they have caused continues.
In the second episode, the action moves on to
Hungerford in Berkshire. In 2007, widow Barbara
Beaumont moved in with her sister-in-law Wendy
Hogg and her severely handicapped 16-year-old
son Joshua. Together they planned to extend their
house and make life easier for Josh by giving him a
measure of independence with a downstairs
bedroom and bathroom. Wendy and Barbara
thought they had found the perfect man for the job. But after handing him over a whopping £53,000,
he left them with an unfinished extension that is honeycombed with faults, meaning that Josh has
been living in a hazardous leaky shell for the past seven years. Dom goes on the trail of the man
responsible and uncovers a trail of unhappy customers, dissolved companies, and outstanding
debts. When he finally catches up with him, the builder is in no mood to talk, let alone apologise.
Dom also goes after a plumbing firm with a distinctly dubious reputation and gets an actor to lure
one of their staff to the hidden camera house. The upshot is that the simplest of jobs turns into a
long-running saga - no water, but a very hefty bill.
Get Your Act Together
Sunday 1st February, 7pm
This fun-packed Sunday night entertainment
series continues as more of our most popular
stars join forces with some of the world’s most
talented variety acts to put on a unique
performance. Each week, host Stephen Mulhern
is joined by five different celebrities who battle it
out to learn some jaw-dropping new skills, from
contortion to fire dancing, ventriloquism to
acrobatics, and juggling to plate-spinning. Under
the watchful eyes of some of the world’s most
talented acts and performers, the celebrities go
through intensive training to master their chosen
skill. Alongside them are award-winning acts,
including Penn and Teller, Catwall Acrobats,
Shaolin Monks, Circus of Men, Debra
Stephenson, Les Bubb and The Moscow State
Circus. Viewers get to see all the action
backstage as the celebrities attempt to
overcome their nerves and face last-minute
rehearsals ahead of their moment in the
spotlight. Each week it is down to the studio
audience to decide which celebrity, along with
their mentor, has entertained them the most
and can go through to the final. Celebrities
taking part in the third show of the series are
actors James Bolam MBE, Chelsee Healey,
Natalie Anderson and Matthew Wolfenden,
model Amy Willerton and former England
cricketer Phil Tufnell.

Thursday 5th February, 10pm
ITV2’s favourite son returns to the nation’s screens

countless catchphrases which are still referenced to
this day. The character of Keith Lemon has gone on to

topical panel show Celebrity Juice, allowing viewers a glimpse into his jet-set life in spoof

faces, including One Direction, Kim Kardashian and long-time collaborator Holly Willoughby. Guests
in the first show include Take Me Out’s Paddy McGuinness, actor John Thomson and former
Inbetweeners star Emily Atack, who are supported by an ensemble cast including Adam C Booth,

amazing world of reality television. Stephen, who
has most recently presented ITV’s celebrity

their attempts to impress. In each episode, someone is given the chance to find true love over three
