Lenten Prayer
Dear Lord,
I am not always sure I know what I want for myself. I am surrounded by
some people who want me to be more than I am, and others who want
me to be less. What is worse, I have those same expectations of others.
Sometimes that makes it difficult for me to get my head and my heart
moving in the same direction. If it is possible, let that cup pass from me,
but if not … Amen.
WELCOME TO ST. MARK’S! Let us prepare ourselves to worship our
Lord this morning with prayer. Before the service begins, you are invited to
register your attendance (please print) in the attendance pad in the pew.
FLOWERS on the Altar this morning are presented to the Glory of God,
in loving memory of her parents, Mary & Norris Elliott by Pat Visgaitis.

CD MINISTRY Today’s sermon is available on CD for you to share with a
friend. Please see an usher or fill out a form on the usher’s table.
THE NURSERY is located in Room 212 & is available for parents to
either drop off their children during the 9:30 service or tend to their child's
needs. Volunteers will be available in the nursery every week, only during the
9:30 service but, it will be open during all other services for families to use as
well.
THRIFT SHOP HOURS are Monday 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday,
Friday & Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 410-820-7106.

THANK YOU FROM TIS to all the ST Mark's homeless shelter volunteers
who covered the shifts & the dinners over the last two weeks at Easton's
Promise. The weather meant we needed to keep the shelter open all day, every
day, & St Mark's volunteers made that happen. I want to say a big "THANK
YOU" myself to all of you who served, who donated financially, & who prayed
for the homeless & the shelter program. There is a legal challenge from some
neighbors against the shelter being at that location, & that case will be heard in
circuit court on March 13th. Please be in prayer for God's will to be done in the
judge's decision concerning whether the shelter will be able to remain open on a
continuing basis. There is joy in serving & joy in prayer, Barbara Friedman
HELP WANTED Since October either Bill Gunther or Jim & Sheila Scott
have been picking up the left over bread & pastries from Panera Bread each
Saturday night between 9 & 9:30 PM & taking it to our church kitchen. Then on
Sunday mornings around 7am, Herby & Della Andrew re-package the food to
get to different groups/people later that morning or early Monday. We need
some help with the Saturday night pick ups. There will be a sign up sheet in the
gathering area this Sunday. We hope that 4 people will sign up to get the bread
once each month.
LAST CALL FOR SHOES Last call for shoes! Sunday, March 29,
will be the last day for our current shoe collection. It’s gratifying to know that
our unneeded shoes can be used to provide fresh clean water where it is greatly
needed - such an easy way to share our blessings. Many thanks for your
wonderful response!

ST PATRICK’S DAY PRAYER SERVICE will be held at noon,
Tuesday, March 17 at Temple B’nai Israel. Public is invited.
THRIFT SHOP NEEDS YOU! If you are looking for a place to be useful at
St. Mark’s, think about volunteering at the Thrift Shop. We need men as well as
women. Just 4 hours once a month or as needed Hours are Mondays 10:00
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday & Saturdays are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00

PRAYER IN THE CHAPEL meets weekly on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

BOARD OF CHILD CARE/FOOD LION PARTNERSHIP Food Lion
has agreed to donate a certain percentage of every dollar that is spent in its
stores to the Board of Child Care, Denton Campus. To get the credit, you need
to register your MVP discount card in order for the Board to get this credit.
Please register your card information on the list in the Gathering Area. Thanks!

PRAYER CHAIN MINISTRY The purpose of the Prayer Chain Ministry is
to provide prayer support in crisis or emergencies for church members, loved
