Message To The Members From Exalted Ruler
William Misczak
W ha t ’s Up !
I’m glad you asked. Before we talk about
all the great events planned for March
2015, let me tell you about all the events
that took place in February. I sure hope
that you had an opportunity to attend at
least one event.
On February 1, 2015 the Lodge hosted its
annual Super Bowl party. Although attendance wasn’t great, allegiance to Seattle
and New England was equally split among
those in attendance. Congratulations to
the New England Patriots who hung on to
win Super Bowl XLIX 28-24. We are now
open for lunch. Yes, we are now open at
11:30 am on Monday’s for lunch. If you
work in the area, and are looking for a
familiar place, give us a try. Karaoke is still
going strong on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of
the month. Charlene Cohen, Kenneth
O’Brien, Randy Musser, Richard Hiemenz
and I all attended the Florida Elks Quarterly
in Umatilla, Florida. Increasing membership and maintaining sound financial practices were the main topics of discussion.
Also in attendance was Grand Exalted Ruler John Amen, who also talked about membership and lodge finances. On February 8,
2015 the Lodge hosted an all-you-can-eat

pancake breakfast for Eagle Scout Jack
Boro, who will fulfill his Eagle Scout project
by building the Elks a gazebo. Jack raised
more than $550.00 on Sunday and along
with other donations has raised more than
$850.00. Jack will begin the gazebo project in March 2015. On February 10th, the
Past Exalted Rulers Association dinner was
attended by members who indicated interest in becoming a Lodge Officer. At the
Lodge meeting following the dinner, nominations for Lodge officers were accepted.
None of the Lodge positions were contested. Congratulations to William Misczak
(Exalted Ruler); Kenneth O’Brien (Leading
Knight); Vacant (Loyal Knight); and Suzanne Secrest (Lecturing Knight). For a
complete list of Lodge officers for 20152016 see page 6. It was wonderful seeing
Elk members and guests celebrating Valentine’s Day at our annual Dinner/Dance.
Mr. Breezz entertained all and dinner was
catered by “The Catering Couple”. On
February 19, 2015 the Veteran’s Committee amused Veterans housed at the Department of Veterans Affairs Community
Living Center. The Veterans enjoyed Bingo and treats provided by the Elks. On
February 21, 2015, the Lodge Trustees
and devoted workaholics gathered and
provided some tender loving care to the
interior and exterior of the Lodge. A special thank you goes out to Terry & Steve
Hebior, Jim & Jeannie Platt, Steve Leggiero, Bob DeGraff and Bob & Marianne
Tithof and all the members that helped in
cleaning the kitchen. It really looks great.
Thank You! The month ended with a Fish
Fry on Friday February 27, 2015 and
Steak night on Saturday February 28,
2015. We have several event planned for
March 2015. Tickets are on sale for our
St. Patrick’s Day Dinner/Dance on March
14, 2015. The Installation of Officer’s is
scheduled for Saturday March 28, 2015.
More information about these two events
and other’s can be found within this
Antler’s issue.
Fraternally,
William Misczak - ER

ELK OF THE MONTH—Charlene Cohen (CC)
Congratulations!!!
CC goes above and beyond holding the office of Lodge Secretary! She takes care of our lodge unselfishly and is the first to
reach out a helping hand to anyone in need. Recently, she was buried under boxes and boxes of stuff (don’t worry, she eventually found her way out) as they were being cleared out of the office after years and years and years of “saving”.
For all that you do, WE THANK YOU!!

Section 14.160 requires notification that if you are suspended for
non-payment of dues you can be reinstated only by a favorable vote
of the Lodge and compliance with other requirements of Section
14.180, Statues of the Order. This can be done during April, 2015,
with no penalty, but thereafter the other provisions of this section
must be complied with.
You are reminded that if you do not care to continue active membership, the laws of Order provide legal means of obtaining an in-active
non-paying status. This can be accomplished by payment of delinquent dues and your written request for an Absolute Dimit. We hope
that if your mind is made up to drop your membership, you will
choose this honorable method of retirement. It must be done, however, by the last Lodge meeting this year on March 31, 2015.

The Eleven O'clock Toast
"You have heard the tolling of 11 strokes. This is to impress
upon you that with us the hour of 11 has a tender significance. Wherever an Elk may roam, whatever their lot in life
may be, when this hour falls upon the dial of night, the great
heart of Elkdom swells and throbs. It is the golden hour of
recollection, the homecoming of those who wander, the
mystic roll call of those who will come no more. Living or
dead, an Elk is never forgotten, never forsaken. Morning and
noon may pass them by, the light of day sink heedlessly in
the West, but ere the shadows of midnight shall fall, the
chimes of memory will be pealing forth the friendly message,
