Mix It Up With E&J Brandy
When is the best time for E&J Brandy? For us, it’s that time of day when all that matters is kicking back and catching
up with friends. We make our brandy the old-fashioned way - real and authentic. With a smooth taste for sipping or
mixing, E&J Brandy is the perfect compliment for any occasion.
Whether straight-up on a winter’s night or mixed into a favorite cocktail, our brandy is revered by fans who are real
in all that they do. Brandy is a time-honored spirit that’s been around for generations. And it doesn’t get any more
authentic than E&J.
Our tradition in brandy dates back to 1938, when we introduced our first distilled spirit from wine grapes under the
“Cream of California” label. In 1975, a modern legend was born when we created our flagship brandy, E&J VS. It has
been America’s most preferred brandy ever since, favored for its smooth taste and authentic style.
E&J Brandy VS
First introduced in 1975, E&J VS is America’s most preferred brandy. Popular
because it tastes great, mixes well and offers consistent, award-winning quality.
Distilled and aged to showcase the elegance of a fine California brandy,
E&J VS has flavors of sweet dried fruit, balanced beautifully with subtle notes of
toasted brown spice and vanilla. E&J VS Brandy is soft and light-bodied with a
crisp, clean finish.
E&J Brandy VSOP
E&J VSOP takes smooth to another level. We age it longer than our VS
Brandy, giving it a lush, layered texture. Produced in the style of fine
European brandies, it’s America’s favorite VSOP Brandy because we blend it
specifically for richness and full flavor, which has earned several best of show
awards at some of the most prestigious spirits competitions.
Our VSOP Brandy begins with a delicate bouquet of sweet and brown spice,
delicious notes coaxed from its extended time aging in barrel. On the palate,
inviting flavors of vanilla cream, maple and sherry linger into a satisfyingly smooth
finish.
E&J Brandy XO
Nothing is smoother than our E&J XO Brandy; the pinnacle of fine brandy.
It is the best of the best, blended from our finest brandy lots each year.
We handcraft E&J XO to bring out the sweet vanilla, creamy toffee, brown
sugar and soft maple characteristics of toasted oak. Hints of lavender and
hibiscus entice the nose, with complementary flavors of dried pears and
figs. E&J XO is lusciously smooth with a bold, complex finish; so good, it has won
over critics and brandy lovers alike.
MIXING 101
As any great bartender will tell you, there’s nothing more fun than mixing hand-crafted, delicious ingredients together into
a well-made drink. The point is to have the right stuff and the right frame of mind, one that’s ready to chill with friends and
enjoy your favorite E&J Brandy cocktails.
Start things right with a standard jigger (1.5 ounces) for measuring. You’ll need a long cocktail spoon for mixing, a twopart (glass and metal) shaker set, cocktail strainer, paring knife, funnel, bottle, wine and can opener. Keep a muddler
nearby for mashing or muddling fruit juices, fruit pieces, herbs and ice.
For cocktails with fruit juice, put the fruit juice in the glass first, followed by any bitters and mixers. Then pour in the base
brandy and any other spirits, followed by ice. Cocktails with only spirits need just a stir, however, if you want your fruit or
citrus-juice cocktail to take on a lovely effervescence, give it a quick shake just before serving, and behold the bubbles.
