Eligibility
To be eligible for the one-time $2,000 scholarship, the recipient must be:

A graduating senior planning for a diploma, certificate, or degree program at an
accredited college, university, community college, or vocational school;

MUST be graduating from a school in Putnam, White, Overton, Cumberland, or
Fentress Counties.

CANNOT be the son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter, grandson, granddaughter,
niece, or nephew of an employee/board member/retiree at Bank of Putnam
County, Cumberland County Bank, Bank of White County (an office of Bank of
Putnam County), Bank of Overton County (an office of Bank of Putnam County),
or Bank of Fentress County (an office of Bank of Putnam County); and

MUST show proof of graduation (physical diploma) and enrollment in the
institution of higher education before the scholarship will be written to the
educational institution.

Criteria
The Rex Hitchcock Memorial Scholarship will be awarded with no purchase necessary to
the student who is chosen through a scholarship committee. The purpose is to reward
students for graduating and going on to higher education.
Selection
Bank of Putnam County, Bank of Overton County (an office of Bank of Putnam County),
Bank of White County (an office of Bank of Putnam County), and Bank of Fentress
County (an office of Bank of Putnam County) will each award their own $2,000
scholarship that will be made payable to the institution of higher education of the
recipient’s choice. The selection committee will send award letters to those chosen, and
AFTER proof of graduation and enrollment has been provided, the check will be mailed
to the institution of higher education.
To apply:
(1) Go to www.bankofputnamcounty.com, and then click on “Scholarship
Application.” Print out the application, mail it to the address above, or bring it to
your nearest branch;
(2) OR visit your nearest branch and pick up an application, mail it to the address
provided above, or turn it in at any branch.
