Special Angels Concert brings down the house! Teacher Linda Johnson has seen many performances on the stage at MHS, but this was her final curtain-call. Special Angels presented “Greatest Hits” last Friday to a full house and the live stream performance was watched by hundreds more. This concert started out with a tribute and dedication by Linda Johnson to her parents-- Marge and Phil Pinewski --who raised 13 children. Linda credits them for instilling in her the belief that we are all to be treated equally. The crowd went wild as the Angels shared their talents with us from the spectacular drumming display to the “Thriller” dance to the white glove medley where black lights and glow-in-the-dark props showcase the precision and skill of these students. The show stopper was the duet “Don’t Laugh at Me” by students Tom Carlson and Nicole Baca. THANK YOU to our talented photographers!! by the invited to a occurring Over 40 family members of Marge and Phil Pinewski (parents of Linda Johnson) came from out of state to pay tribute to these remarkable parents. Way to go! A Note from Your Principal Memorial Families; ECASD will be launching its Family Survey on March 31st to learn more on how parents feel about the performance of District schools. This Feedback will be used to assess and improve campus-level education programs and services. To facilitate participation, the survey will be available in English, Spanish and Hmong. I want to strongly encourage you to participate and thank-you in advance for your time towards this valuable data-collection tool. The information gathered from these surveys is instrumental in our school improvement planning. Parents will receive an email invitation to participate on March 31st. Survey design, administration and analysis is being handled by the independent technology and communications firm, K12 Insight, to ensure that all responses are confidential and anonymous to school and district staff. There will be no individual data or identifying information in any report. When the survey closes on Monday, April 13th, K12 Insight will analyze results and ECASD administrators will share findings and next steps with the community. Again, families should look for an email on March 31st and are strongly encouraged to participate. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions. Go Abes!
