HUSKY PRIDE Five individual members of the NHS Golf team have been named to the Academic All-State Team for Girls Golf: Alyssa Bee, Kailee Brown, Lauren Klauck, Brittnie Prock, and Keyara Williams. The sale includes fiction and nonfiction books for kids, teens and adults. There will also be teacher/professional materials, pull-down maps, text books and educational aids available for purchase. PARKS AND REC PARENT’S NIGHT OUT IS NOV. 14TH Join Eau Claire Parks and Recreation on November 14 for some wild and crazy Parent’s Night Out fun at Northstar Middle School. Activities will include busy cooperative games in the gym, a dip in the pool and as much fun as your child can fit into the time. While your children are wild and crazy with us, enjoy some quite adult time. Our friendly staff will make certain your youngster has an enjoyable evening with us. The event begins at 6:30 pm and wraps up promptly at 9:00 pm. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. The cost is $5.00 in advance and $6.00 at the door. Let’s Have Some Fun! 2014 Turkey Trot The Festival Foods Turkey Trot will take place on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014. The Turkey Trot offers two events – a five mile run and a two mile walk – to accommodate participants of all ages and abilities. Attendees enjoy the upbeat music, high quality long-sleeved t-shirts and free Festival Foods pumpkin pies at the finish line that they can take home and enjoy with their family. There is also the Dog Jog, a separate group just for dogs and their humans. The Dog Jog will start at the back of the 2 mile event and will follow the 2 mile route. The Turkey Trot benefits the Boys & Girls Club and YMCA in communities Festival Foods serves. Both of those organizations provide volunteers in return for monetary proceeds. Click here to sign up for a time slot! “Mighty Mike” and The Bounce Out the Stigma Project is December 3 The Epilepsy Center of Western Wisconsin invites you to join the fun on Wednesday, December 3, from 6-8 pm, at the Eau Claire YMCA and learn what it takes to be self-driven. “Mighty Mike” Simmel is a veteran of the Harlem Wizards professional entertainment basketball team who lives with challenges created by epilepsy. He founded and runs “The Bounce Out the Stigma Project” which features an interactive basketball show with the themes of goal setting, antibullying, confidence building, healthy living and disability awareness. High School Medical Career Exploratory Program, Monday, December 8th, Marshfield Clinic-Eau Claire Center, 9:00 am-12:00 noon. This event is open to high school students, ages 16 and older who attend high school in the Chippewa Valley and have an interest in the medical field.
