SCHOOL ACTIVITIES—We know that a lot of letters get sent home about various events, trips,
etc. that your children take part in, but we would appreciate it if you could please return the
completed forms as soon as possible, and even before the deadline date indicated on the
letters. These forms need to be returned please, whether or not your child wishes to take
part, as if they are unable to, we can offer the place to someone else. Sadly, if your child
doesn’t return their form it may mean that they will be unable to take part in that particular
event. Unfortunately, school is not in a position to ring individuals to ask for paperwork. As
always, thank you for your co-operation.
MOTHER’S DAY– We made a fantastic £260.00 from the sale of the afternoon teas—a brilliant amount! Thank you to everyone who supported this, and a big thank you to Alison in the
kitchen and Mrs. Keet for making such wonderful goodies for everyone to eat!
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS—We will stop after school clubs from the week beginning 30th March
until after the Easter break. The Dean Jones dance and football clubs WILL continue as normal. Mrs. Dewey will also be continuing with her maths after school club on Tuesday 31st
March! Due to a change in staffing arrangements, the Rhythmic Gymnastics club will not be
continuing after Easter, but the other clubs should remain as before.
SKATEBOARDING—The children had a fabulous time learning skateboarding skills this week.
Liam in Year 5 said “It was awesome! I learnt to jump up in the air and flip the skateboard!”
Despite Mr. McConnell giving it his best shot, he must try harder to match Mrs. Crook’s rollerskating prowess! Photographs of the children learning skateboarding to follow in next week’s
newsletter!
LENTEN FUNDRAISING—Our fundraising is going well and thank you to everyone who has
supported us so far with the sponsored pancake toss, donations of 20ps and the buying of
raffle tickets—which are still available to buy! Please continue to send in your 20ps and don’t
forget to order your Hot Cross Bun breakfast for Wednesday, 1st April at 7.45am and for just
£1.50!
SWIMMING LESSONS—A reminder that swimming lessons start immediately after we return
from the Easter break for Group 1 of Reception Class, Year 3 and Year 5. Please ensure that
you have returned your consent form, fees and money for swimming hats if required, by
Monday, 23rd March, as stated in the original letter. Thank you for your co-operation.
ECLIPSE—After a whole school Eclipse assembly children worked on various activities within
their classrooms and outside at an age appropriate level. Despite the thick cloud the BBC
came to the rescue and we were able to access it live in all its glory!
