New York based Aussie woodwind favourite Adrian Cunningham is making
a special trip to BJC to release his new album “Ain’t that Right”, a collection
of tunes by composer and long time Basie collaborator Neal Hefti. Expect to
hear some swinging classics like Cute and The Odd Couple . Featuring Steve
Russell, Helen Russell and Joe Marchisella in this swinging show.

SCAT

SCAT does for jazz what bubbles do for soda-pop. Original tunes, tasty
standards, clever arrangements, brilliant musicianship and serious humour is a
package that audiences can’t get enough of. Fronted by vocalist Craig Burnett,
SCAT brings unique blends of accessible sounds, instrumental mastery, lyric
riffing, crowd interaction and off-beat humour. Craig Burnett - vocals, Chris
Poulsen - keys, Jeremy O’Connor - double bass, Dan Smith - drums.

Kelsey Giarola

Vibrant vocalist Kelsey Giarola and her quartet are back performing a mixture
of jazz arrangements and original tunes. Having performed on SBS National
television and at multiple festivals throughout 2014, Kelsey and the band will
leave nothing behind at this show. They are also excited to share the stage with
successful New York pianist/vocalist Brenda Earle Stokes.

founding of the Brisbane Jazz Club, and the official signing of our lease with
BCC, at which we hope to welcome the Lord Mayor. Doors Open 2.30pm
Alan Western will present a special Brisbane Big Band show featuring Brad
Esbensen and the BBB with special guests from the BJC - Melissa Western,
Lisa La Celle, Di Clark, Duncan Read, Mal Page and Mal Wood - a night to

Paul Williams – clarinet / saxophone, delivers his own soulful show of classic jazz
standards, sharing the stage with Paul Hudson, Andrew Shaw, John Reeves
and Mal Wood. Paul who performs regularly with the Caxton Street Jazz band,
has performed with Isaac Hayes, Cilla Black , Al Martino, Gene Pitney, Linda
Ronstadt , James Morrison, Bob Barnard, Tom Baker, Judy Bailey, Graeme Bell
and the Nelson Riddle Orchestra.
