The STR 500 strand extruder is a compact solution for producing and shaping different types of strand or “vermicelli”. It is available with working widths of 600, 1300 and 1800 mm and has an output capacity of 100 to 1000 kg per hour. Capacity largely depends on the raw materials used, which may be sugar-, fat- or chocolate-based. Output is also affected by the hole diameter of the sieves used. Sugar and chocolate strands can be produced with a diameter of 0.9, 1.1 or 2.0 mm. The extruder is available from Böhnke & Luckau as a stand-alone unit or with twin or triple extrusion heads, and all options can be combined with a cooling tunnel. The sieves can be changed quickly to enable flexible switching from one product to another. Drive technology from SEW-EURODRIVE is a major factor in these machines’ high reliability and energy efficiency. The connected load is between 10 and 30 kW with three-phase 400 V/50 Hz power supply in each case.
