All help appreciated ON-LINE NEWSLETTER - www.achonrydiocese.org/newsletters/parishnewsletter.pdf The Crucifixion So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!” When the chief priests and the police saw Him, they shouted, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” Around this time in the Church year, we celebrate the suffering and death of Jesus on Palm Sunday and Good Friday. It is important, at least once a year, to meditate on this true story. It is an amazing story of courage and great love on the part of Jesus, of mob anger and violence, and of a lack of courage by Pilate. It is a major part of our story as Christians. Sit quietly and read the whole thing as though you have never heard it before. Feel the fear of the disciples, the calmness and commitment of Jesus, the anger of the crowd, and Pilate’s wavering over what to do with Jesus. Let us pray Jesus, man of fortitude and God of love, teach me to be ever consistent in my beliefs and convictions. Amen E-mail cathedral@achonrydiocese Palm Sunday of Lent : 29th March 2015 Mass Intentions This Week We pray for Maureen Towey RIP Cois Raile & formerly of Castleard Mary Joe Hanley (nee Higgins) Tobracken Madeline Towey RIP (nee Gallagher) Castleard, who died recently, and all whose anniversaries occur around this time.
