PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)
O Thou, Redeemer King, we are quick to join the crowds in singing
your praises today. We welcome your arrival into our city, our church,
and our homes. But later this week we will be as quick to deny we ever
knew you — so addicted are we to the way things are. Forgive us for
failing to follow you all the way to the cross. Forgive us for the fear that
blinds us to your magnificent hope.
SILENT CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
*THE APOSTLES’ CREED (Unison)
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by
the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell. The
third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and
sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He
shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion
of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the
life everlasting. Amen.

Steadfast Hope Study - April 8, 15, 22, 29
Steadfast Hope sets us on a journey to learn how to support those who
seek peace in the Holy Land of Israel/Palestine. This 4-week study will be
led by Connie Baker April 8, 15, 22, 29 in the choir room. Connie
began working for peace in Israel/Palestine as a Christian member of Not
In My Name (NIMN) Chicago in 2000 and then with Jewish Voice for
Peace after NIMN became its Chicago chapter. Both have provided her the
opportunity to work with awe inspiring people who have dedicated their
lives to human rights and justice for all people.

The response by the congregation donating money for the Kenya

and we are grateful. Mountain View raised over $9,500, which
purchased over 630 baskets. At $15 each, they feed a family for a
month during their Easter school recess.

Thank you!

SPECIAL THANKS
Special thanks to Jeremy Jones for creating the bulletin cover artwork.
Also, congratulations for being Mt. View’s recipient of the Presbytery of
Grand Canyon Senior Service Award on Thursday, March 26.
Jeremy’s explanation of his artwork…
“If you had been there and had seen the crowd going by on Palm Sunday,
what would you think was happening? Catching a glimpse through waving
palm branches of a man on a donkey, hoping for someone to drive out the
Romans, would you have had any idea of a larger purpose? Perhaps there
is a lesson here about how truth is revealed to us over time.”

Coffee with a Conscience
We’ve moved! Cafe Justo (a.k.a. Just Coffee) is still available for sale the 1st and
3rd Sundays of each month, but will now be sold from the kitchen coffee service
window. A mission project at Mt View since 2004, 100% of the money made from
coffee sales is sent back to the Cafe Justo co-op in Mexico. These Christian
farmers are investing the profits from their co-op throughout their communities
where there have been vast improvements in education, healthcare, clean water
systems, infrastructure. Partnerships with customers in the US are also fostering
justice between borders. Café Justo ~ life changing for Mexican farmers,
delicious, healthy and a conscience too. Enjoy!!

Are you, or someone you know, experiencing one or more Life Events that, when
taken alone or together, are creating a need for a caring Christian friend? If so, we

New Adult Education Course
Join our Pastors for 6 Wednesday evenings beginning April 8th as we examine
John Ortberg’s book Soul Keeping.
When is the last time you thought about the state of your soul?
The health of your soul isn’t just a matter of saved or unsaved. It’s the hinge on which
the rest of your life hangs. It’s the difference between deep, satisfied spirituality and a
restless, dispassionate faith. In an age of materialism and consumerism that tries to buy
its way to happiness, many souls are starved and unhealthy, unsatisfied by false
promises of status and wealth. We’ve neglected this eternal part of ourselves, focusing
instead on the temporal concerns of the world—and not without consequence.
