We, the Management, Principal, Staff and Students of our
Department of Physics have the great pleasure in inviting you to
the One Day National Level Seminar on "Semiconductor
Materials and Device Processing for Energy Applications" on
25th March 2015 in our college premises.
About the Institution
Arulmigu Palaniandavar Arts College for Women Palani is
run by the Department of Hindu Religious and Charitable
Endowment, Chennai, Tamilnadu. Our College is situated 8 kms
away from Palani town, the pilgrim centre. Our college is affiliated
to Mother Teresa Women's University, Kodaikanal. It is rendering
service to rural women since the inception of 1970, with the
objectives of Women Education, Women Empowerment, Self
Reliance and Model Citizen.
It has been accredited with B++ by NAAC in 2004 and
reaccredited with 'A' grade by NAAC in 2011. It earned the status
of Autonomous in the year 2005 and Choice Based Credit System
is followed. There are 13 UG courses and 6 PG courses and
4 M.Phil courses inclusive of Self Finance courses.

Scope of the Seminar
With the onset of time of entering into the third millenium,
significant changes are quite essential even at the conceptual
understanding of Material Science, Semiconductor Physics,
Energy Physics and their applications in day to day life.
As these three disciplines of Physics are emerging with
increasing importance, we realized that the students, research
scholar's and teacher's should be exposed to the recent
developments of these fields of Physics and we, the Department
of Physics has arranged this National level Seminar on
Semiconductor Materials and Device Processing for Energy
Applications".

About the Department
The Department of Physics was established in 1970. The
department centers mainly on academically poor students. The Staff
members of our department work with their might and main to help
the students grow in their academic stature.
Our student's are holding all time high ranks in the
University at gross. Our students have emerged up and are
holding their offices in various fields as Computer Engineers,
Teachers, Research Scholars, Entrepreneurs and so on. Our
department conducts Seminars, Workshops and Exhibitions on
various topics so that our students get well exposed to the recent
developments in the subjects.
