New Forest Funerals GOING PUBLIC
New Forest Funerals has recently opened in The
Square, Fawley, by Mandie Pidgley and Martin
Masters. Both have worked for large Funeral
Directors and are now proud to offer Waterside’s
only truly Independent Funeral Directors and monumental masons.
New Forest Funerals premises at Fawley
Whatever your individual requirements from the simplest funeral to the most elaborate, you can be assured
of a professional, open and honest service at New
Forest Funerals, with a personal relationship right
from the start; the person who answers the telephone
or greets you at the office, will be the person with you
throughout all the necessary arrangements leading up
to the funeral, and at any time afterwards.
The commitment to continuity of care is not only
based on their long experience in the funeral profession, but also personal experience of suffering
bereavement, and realising the importance of this
fundamental requirement.
Mandie has worked in the funeral industry since
2007, and has become well known and respected
for her dedicated funeral arrangements. Her passion
for serving local families has led to the formation of
New Forest Funerals, and believes that un hindered by
corporate policies, she can offer the personal service
that people deserve at the most difficult time. Her local
knowledge and working relationships with clergy and
Civil celebrants allows her to offer a truly independent
and dedicated service centred on care and continuity.
Martin began his career in the funeral profession in
1991, and holds the Professional Diploma in funeral
directing and management, and is a member of The
Chartered Institute of Management. Having served
with HM Forces, Martin has dealt with a number of
Military repatriations and service funerals, and taken
part in the planning of and rehearsals for State funerals. His experience has seen him supporting a number
of local and national funeral directors providing practical and consultancy assistance.

Cornerstone Church Hythe
May I take this opportunity to wish all the readers
of The Herald, a very happy Easter. I used to lead a
church in an industrial town in Lancashire and historically there was a tradition of Easter clothes where, in
the midst of a hard life and a fair amount of poverty,
it was the time of year when a new set of clothes were
bought for the children and these were proudly worn
by hundreds of children during walks of witness of
Good Friday. This might seem like a different world
to us now but the open air is a good place to be, especially in a beautiful place like the Waterside. Maybe
this Easter you will come to one of the local events
planned in our community, or attend the various Good
Friday open air services on the Waterside. I believe
that the good news of Easter is public truth that can
transform people and communities if it is not allowed
to be privatized and restricted to private lives. There is
an old Easter hymn called ‘There is a green hill” which
reminds us that the events of the first Easter happened
in public, outside the city wall in a place of humiliation and disgrace. However, in that place can be found
hope, new life and salvation.
