Start with slicing the larger piece down the center vertically. One half of this will be your canoe. • Spoon the seeds out and fill the cavity with mozzarella or hummus. • To prepare the tomato people you will need the toothpick and sesame seeds. Pierce the tomatoes to make eyes and a mouth and fill the holes with sesame seeds. • Place the tomato people in the canoe. • For the paddle, cut a slice out of the 1/4 piece of cucumber. Cut the slice in half, cut out the middle so only the green outer layer is left and place on each side of the canoe. • For the whale you will need the remainder of the 3/4 piece of cucumber. For the body of the whale, slice the cucumber in half. The rounded half will be the whale’s head, and the other piece the tail. For the tail, cut a triangle out of one end to make the flipper and two more triangles, one on each lengthwise side to create the bottom of the tail.
