ANN ARBOR SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS:
Mozart’s Magnificent Voyage
The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra presents Mozart’s Magnificent Voyage at Ann Arbor’s
historic Michigan Theater on Sunday, October 12 at 4:00pm. This first Benard L. Maas
Family Concert of the season will introduce people of all ages to the extraordinary life and works
of Mozart through an exciting drama woven with musical excerpts from his most famous
compositions, and is proudly sponsored by Toyota.
Families of all ages will enjoy 23 excerpts of the master’s music played live on stage by the A2SO,
including themes from The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, and The Marriage of Figaro, and some
of his most important and engaging works such as Ave Verum, Symphony No. 1, The Clarinet
Quintet and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. The music is magically woven into the drama as two
actors portraying Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his son, Karl Thomas Mozart, recreate
historical incidents from the composer’s life.
This mesmerizing concert and story performance is 50-minutes long. Based on the highly
acclaimed and award-winning Classical Kids recordings of Mozart’s Magnificent Voyage and
Mozart’s Magic Fantasy, this theatrical symphony concert is an imaginative way to introduce
young audiences and their families to the life and music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in a live
performance.
From 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. bring the family for fun, free activities including a roving Instrument
Petting Zoo, a science-themed project with the Ann Arbor Hands-on Museum, fun with
Challenge Island and more.
Classical Kids LIVE! is produced by Classical Kids Music Education, a not-for-profit
organization dedicated to furthering classical music education. In combination with the
Classical Kids Teaching Edition, Classical Kids LIVE! serves as one of the world’s best
