NOTES FROM THE 2015 CHAIR
SBTV SALES
Two pieces sold at the SBTV reception “Multivision”. Congratulations
to Beth Schmohr and Susanna Meyer.
There will be another ad in CASA
Magazine in May and hopefully it
will attract viewers. The biggest challenge with exhibitting at the venue is
attracting viewers to a location which
remains little known as an art venue.
However, the artwork shows very well
and Martine was great to work with.
SURFACE AND STRUCTURE
We’re looking forward to our next
exhibition “Surface and Structure” at
the Faulkner. Ingathering on Sunday,
May 3. This is a joint exhibition with
the Santa Barbara Sculptors Guild and
you may submit both abstract and
non-abstract artwork, depending on
Jan Ziegler
which group you belong to. Those of
you who belong to both groups may
submit through both, but your sum total of pieces

fit for this exhibition.
MEISEL REPORTING
Alice Karnas at the Meisel reported a very positive reaction to the show from staff, patients and
attendees. Two pieces were sold. Congratulations
to Rica Coulter and Nancy Freeman.
During takedown, four or five physical therapists
and patients went out of their way to tell me how
much they enjoyed the exhibit. One staff member
asked about the possibility of joining the AAC.
Two people said they would have purchased, but it
was out of their price range. I asked which pieces
they liked and they were both less than $400 each.
Not sure exactly what to take away from that info,
but it is reportable.
We are pleased to welcome: Stephen Robeck,
David Mark Lane, Cody Cammbell, Anna Gardner, Mary Lynn Schlomkowitz, Lawrence Wallin,
Patrick McGinnis, Deborah Walsh, Pam Free.
We look forward to seeing their work in our shows.
SEE INTERNATIONAL FUNDRAISER
We will soon be receiving 9 x 12 inch wood panels
which will be made available to AAC artists who
want to participate in the November Surgical Eye
Exhibitions (SEE) International Fundraiser. This
worthy beneficiary provides cataract surgery to
those in third world countries who would not otherwise have the chance for restored sight.
