As a teenager in the 1920’s, Esther Price was passionate about sharing her
homemade candy with friends and family. Using premium chocolate,
creamery butter, fresh milk, and sugar, Esther perfected fudge that she
would one day share with coworkers. Just a few years later, Esther’s
confections were being sold in downtown Dayton department stores.
By 1926, what started in her parents’ kitchen had blossomed into a
full-fledged candy business.
Today, Esther would be pleased to know that even though our family
now makes a few more chocolates than she did each year, the company
still uses the finest ingredients to make the chocolates that bear her
name – premium chocolate, locally produced milk and butter, fancygrade almonds, pecans, and cashews, and, of course, those succulent
cherries for our famous Chocolate-Covered Cherries.
Esther’s uncompromising commitment to customers, and her devotion
to quality still stands today. All of our chocolates are still made in
Esther’s original Wayne Avenue location in Dayton. And many of your
favorites are still hand-made. Our signature gold box tied with the red
ribbon is synonymous with quality and good taste.
