SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM FR. GABE SINISI: Sunday, April 26, 2015, at our regular meeting, I informed the Vestry of my decision to retire on September 30, 2015. This has been a difficult decision for me. Many of you know that over the past few years I have been experiencing some chronic health problems which have been draining much of my energy. This has made me consider that after about 50 years as an emergency x-ray technician, physician, and priest, [all professions in which I have been on call 24/7], it is time for me to take some time for more relaxation and less stress. Mary will continue with the Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center but I will be able to travel with her to their various locations throughout Arizona. In general I will be able to spend more time with Mary, and with Sarah, Elizabeth, Jay and Elisa, as well as my many animal friends. Advent is a wonderful church family. Mary and I feel blessed to have shared in the ministry of this place and I know that we will miss that. We moved into town in November of 2005 so when I retire on September 30th, we will be taking nearly ten years of fond memories with us. I know that Advent has a bright future. Advent is blessed to have many dedicated lay leaders who truly live into the motto, “GOD’S AGENDA IS OUR AGENDA.” I want to especially thank Senior Warden Dr. Ray Joseph who will lead the parish through this time of search and transition. The new Rector of Advent will be blessed as I am to work with an outstanding group of Christians. The Body of Christ and the Reign of God will flourish in this place. Bishop Smith and Canon Megan Traquair will be meeting with the Vestry very soon to begin work on the transition process. My family and I thank all of you for enriching our lives as we shared ministry with you here at Advent. Peace and all good, Gabe +
