Arrange a Juneteenth
Celebtaration with AHT.
(Excerpt from Juneteenth.com) Juneteenth is
the oldest known celebration commemorating
the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that
the Union soldiers landed at Galveston, Texas
with news that the war had ended and that the
enslaved were now free.
Have a Juneteenth Celebration and Invite
one of AHT's heroes and heroines of the
Abolition Movement. Their stories,
struggles, and ultimate triumph over slavery

Saturday: June 13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
Montclair Friends Meeting will celebrate the importance of
providing entrance equality available to all.
At 1:15 p.m. they will cut the ribbon on their universal entry
ramp to the Meetinghouse.
At 1:30 p.m., Lucretia Mott, portrayed by Kim Hanley of AHT will give a presentation with
Question and answer. After the formal presentation there will be a social hour with
refreshments. Please join in the celebration. Open to the public.

developing a new character takes time and funding.

Betsy Ross (Kim Hanley) will get into the swing
of things at the Camden Riversharks Game
against the Bridgeport Bluefish. Ben and Betsy
will be there to throw out the first pitch and then
chat with fans. It will also be "Family Night" at Campbell's Field, so there will be many activities for
children of all ages, including a carousel!
The night finishes with a triumphant fireworks display no matter who wins!

Independence Day 2015
Join AHT at the National Archives:
July 4, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.
George Washington, John Adams,
Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin
Franklin, John Hancock, Ned Hector
and Abigail Adams will read the
Declaration of Independence on the
steps of the National Archives.
After the reading, the National Independence Day Parade will march
along Constitution Avenue. Meanwhile, inside the National Archives,
AHT's heroes and heroine of history will meet and greet visitors in the
Rotunda and the Activity Center. Join AHT for the Celebration. This is a free event, open to the public.
