SPRING 2014
Arnold Palmer Dedication Celebration
In February, Indian Ridge held a celebraon ceremony honoring golf legend
Arnold Palmer for his vision in designing our two spectacular Arnold Palmer
Signature Golf Courses. A special monument was created in front of the
Driving Range featuring a bronze plaque honoring Mr. Palmer and his design
company.
Over 300 Members and Guests joined the Club for this momentous event to
honor “The King.” As Arnold Palmer arrived, he was greeted by a roaring
warm welcome of cheers and claps. A‡er the unveiling, he graciously signed
autographs for Members, signing everything from photos to t-shirts and
golf gloves. He happily took photos with every Member that wanted to
have a memory of the day.
Arnie thanked IRCC for the honor and said how pleased he was to see the
Club doing so well. He also shared a story about how he created the Arnold
Palmer drink at a local restaurant while developing the Indian Ridge
courses.
KESQ news arrived to capture this momentous occasion. The event was later featured
in the news on KESQ, KPSP and KDFX that evening and the following morning. In
addion, the event was covered on Golf Channels’ Golf Central Program.

FROM THE PR ESIDENT
As we near the end of our 2013-2014
season, I want to express my
appreciaon to our Members for the
outstanding support you have given the
Club. Starng with a sold out Season
Opening Party, New Year’s Eve, Friday
night socials, 630 members at the
Concert on the Green and closing with
the End of Season Event, you have been
there every me. Indian Ridge has the
pleasant problem of our members
virtually selling out all of our events.
Whether it is a night of Pasta, Burgers, Chicken, Italian food or wine,
you are there. Having a sold out event me aŽer me is a challenge
many clubs would like to have.
I would also like to thank this year’s Board of Directors and the
various Commi’ees Members who volunteer to support our Club.
Your dedicaon and effort is greatly appreciated. Our group of
Members volunteering their me to the Club is the envy of others.
A special thank you goes out to Hall Wade and his staff. They have
proven to be a very professional, dedicated, hardworking and loyal
group. Their efforts to demonstrate the ‘Indian Ridge Way’ is to be
congratulated. Whether it is on the golf course, the SPA and fitness
center, the tennis facility, administrave offices, JK’s or the
Clubhouse, their a’enveness and commitment is outstanding.
We end the season on a very posive note: the Club’s financial
posion is strong and our membership is growing. The On-Site Sales
Office is producing be’er than ancipated results. In addion, we
were able to complete a Strategic Plan for the Club which will
provide a roadmap for the future. As we like to say, we are
cauously opmisc about our future. With your connued
support, Indian Ridge Country Club will remain ‘the best overall
Club’ in the Valley.
As the summer approaches, I wish you and your family the best. If
you are leaving, travel safely and, if you are remaining, stay cool.
Most importantly, rest assured that we will start to plan for another
terrific season starng in November.

Arnold Palmer shared his method in
designing gorgeous golf courses, like Indian
Ridge Country Club:
"I think the secret is to enjoy and love what
you're doing. Playing golf and building golf
courses has been my life," he said.
The Grove and Arroyo are in magnificent
shape. Their design and playability connues
to be a key element in the success of Indian
Ridge and the enjoyment of our Members.
We can’t thank Mr. Palmer enough for
making a special appearance and for his
vision, his design and his graciousness.
Hot, Hot, Hot!
The Indian Ridge On-Site Sales office (IROSS) is compleng its first
full year of operaon, and what a year it’s been! Indian Ridge is hot

Indian Ridge real estate transacons. As of May 1, Indian Ridge
Country Club had 19 homes in escrow.
Buying acvity at Indian Ridge remains strong. According to Broker,
Mike Bannister, “Last summer was an excellent buying season, and
ancipate this summer to be even be’er. We will have agents on
duty seven days a week and our houses are open every day. As the
desert heats up, prospecve buyers can take virtual tours in our
air-condioned offices in the Clubhouse!”
IROSS and the Club have collaborated on a number of markeng
acvies that have been successful in bringing buyers to Indian Ridge, and every potenal buyer is introduced to the IRCC
Membership Director to ensure that we are selling the lifestyle and not just a house.
IROSS sales staff can be reached at (760) 772-7274. All acve lisngs can be found on the Real Estate tab of the IRCC

Concert on the Green with Motown Express a Huge Success
The crowd jazzed and hustled at our third-annual Concert on
the Green! Motown Express entertained over 600 people with
their amazing rhythm and vocals and had Members dancing in
their seats and in between tables. The energy was electric as
Members sang along to hits by The Temptaons, Aretha
Franklin, Kool & The Gang and many more. With an abundance
of delicious food and great camaraderie, this was our most
successful concert to date.
Members love the new Bar!
One of our finest upgrades last summer was our new, circular Bar in the
Arroyo Grille. The floang lights, marble floor and bistro tables offer a very
inving atmosphere for Members to enjoy a cocktail before dinner or a
casual-yet-upscale spot for a quick bite. This was the most popular social
spot to be in the Club this season!

Fun Times at The Ridge
Tennis Clinic with Pam & Rosie
Our Tennis program featured a season of great events. One key highlight was our Tennis
Clinic with Pam Shriver and Rosie Casals. With Pam’s 133 Career Titles, Rosie’s 90

offered an inspiring and successful morning of tennis.
Motorcycle Club
Because of the popularity of the
Motorcycle Club last season, we

bikes and headed to desnaons like
Big Bear, Borrego Springs and Hell’s
Kitchen. Tennis Director Randy Berg led
the group, and his crew of bikers had a
memorable me on each ride.
Young Member Mixers
Our Young Member Mixer themed events have been extremely popular this season, with events
ranging from the “Couch Potato Fitness Challenge” and “Guys & Gals Golf Tournament” to the
very popular “80’s Trivia Night.” The Mixers were well aended and allowed our younger
Members to make new friends and connect with one another. Stay tuned for more fun next
season.

Mark. Clinics were open to all Members and available to every

A Wonderful Year as Chef
Jim McNeill had a superb first year as Execuve
Chef at Indian Ridge Country Club! Chef Jim
brought his years of experience and culinary
delights to the Club, and Members could not be
more pleased. Jim's reputaon includes a broad
culinary range, a focus on quality and an
exemplary work ethic. He has the ability to
mesh well with his staff and the Members while
running a successful operaon.
Several of our Members expressed their
sasfacon in emails to the Club:
We knew we wanted Jeff's 70th birthday party
to be a very special day. Gloria and John made
“Chinatown” come to life, and the roar of our
guests as the dim sum carts started to circle the
room was exhilarang. As our servers delivered
the steamer baskets and dishes full of all of the
wonderful dim sum, the crowd got quiet. Everyone was eang and eang and eang, and
every single thing that they ate was followed by a “Yum!” As the servers opened the doors
to the extravagant Chinese buffet which included Peking duck (served personally by our Chef)
there was another roar of the crowd. The food was magnificent! We are so lucky to have
Chef Jim at our Club. He is not only a talented Chef, he is truly a wonderful person who strives
to make all of our wants and dreams come to life.
- Arlene and Jeff Goldstein
Celebratory pares are happy events in their own right, but made especially so by the food
served. We can't say enough about Jim - throughout our planning he assured us that the
food would be top notch and we shouldn't worry about a thing. In the end it was even be¡er
than we could have hoped for. The number of people who went out of their way to menon
how good and how beaufully presented the food was are a credit to Jim and made us feel
proud to have hosted such an event.
- Jerry and Myrna Kessler
Chef Jim launched the season with a wonderful opening party and from that evening on, he
has proven to be a great Chef who is well liked by all who work with him, both staff and
Members. He has prepared two events for me that were outstanding - one, a Discussion
Group brunch at the Club in November and more recently a dinner at my home for about 30
family members. The brunch was perfect; Jim made all omelets, and the kitchen even baked
three dishes from recipes I had given him. The dinner was delicious, from cedar plank salmon
and tri p, each with special sauces, to salted caramel brownies. Modest and an excellent
cook, Indian Ridge is very lucky to have Jim as our Chef.
- Linda Brooks
Chef Jim is a wonderful addion to Indian Ridge. He was a pleasure to work with for our event
and extremely accommodang. His a£tude is so posive and he delivers everything he
promises and more. His style, presentaons, creavity, and quality of the food is be¡er than
I have ever seen at Indian Ridge. His private dinners are also amazing. And the best part is
that he is such a nice person. I hope he is very happy here!!
