The Activists for Social Development Fellowship is a competitive eight week program for
recent college graduates who want to be part of building the field of Afterschool Development
as a new approach to fighting poverty in our country.
Program Overview
With a 34-year history of grassroots organizing of diverse communities, the All Stars Project Inc.
(ASP) is opening its doors to a select group of entrepreneurial and growth-oriented college graduates
for a crash course in fundraising, community organizing, youth development and activism.
Born out of the community organizing cauldron of the 1960s, ASP has grown into a nonprofit
organization nationally recognized as a leader in the field of Afterschool Development. ASP’s
mission is to transform the lives of youth and poor communities using the developmental power of
performance, in partnership with caring adults.
Our free, outside-of-school model programs—which are 100% privately funded—reach more than
10,000 inner-city youth and thousands of adults in six cities each year. In ASP programs, people
learn new performances, both on and off the stage; they try new things, become more worldly, and in
doing so, begin to create new possibilities for themselves and their communities. Seeing and acting
on new possibilities is development, and it’s what All Stars is all about.
All Stars Project, Inc. is hiring 10 recent college graduates, or students graduating in the spring of
2015, for a competitive, eight-week, paid summer fellowship program that is designed to challenge
them to be self-starters and make a difference – and along the way provide high-level training in
fundraising, community organizing, nonprofit management, and youth development at a major
national nonprofit organization with an outside-the-box approach.
Previous Activists for Social Development Fellows have gone on to be hired full or part-time for the
All Stars Project, Inc. 2015 fellows will be considered highly for any positions that may be available
after the summer.
