NOTES
Running on a Stand-Alone Computer—It is possible to run
Amicus (with or without Amicus Premium Billing) in a single user
environment. Requirements are the same as an Amicus Server
except minimum RAM is 1 GB, 2 GB recommended.
Split Install—The Amicus database may reside on a different
computer from the Amicus Application Server—this is called a split
install. These servers must reside in the same subnet and domain.
Other Applications—The requirements in this document are for
running Amicus Attorney. If running additional applications on the
same computer, ensure that the computer meets requirements and
has sufficient resources for those other applications as well as the
host operating system.
Firewalls—Ensure that Amicus (and SQL Server or SQL Server
Express, as applicable) are not blocked at the Application Server.
System Check—When installing Amicus Server, the Installer will
perform a System Check to ensure that your machine meets
requirements.
Terminal Server Network—Amicus can be used in a terminal
server environment. The terminal server needs a very fast
processor. Required for each terminal user: a minimum of 256 MB
RAM (512 MB recommended).
Novell Network—A Novell Netware File Server can be used for
storing shared documents, backups, etc. but the Amicus
applications must be installed under Windows.
Service Packs—The latest Service Packs for Windows, SQL
Server, and Internet Explorer are required. In general, we
recommend that you install the latest service packs available for
supported versions of the third-party products.
Both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows and SQL Server are supported. Home Editions of Windows are supported ONLY for Amicus Workstations.
Your Version and/or Edition of SQL Server might not be supported under all Operating Systems listed above. Check Microsoft's Requirements for details.
The listed Operating Systems are also supported in properly configured virtualization environments (such as Microsoft Hyper-V).
An embedded SQL Server Standard Edition Restricted Runtime is available for use with Amicus Application Server.
