FOAH POP UP ICE POP SHOPS EVERY FRIDAY IN JUNE 3:30pm Both playgrounds This week Weekly Website Reminder anlabyacreheads.org. uk If there are any photos or videos on the website that you object to, please send a note to Mrs Robinson. We’ve only had four days in school but what an eventful time it has been! Mr and Mrs Saunders came in to take an assembly. Ms Imrie took an assembly about the forthcoming assessment for the Investors in Pupils award. Mrs Kelsey ran around sorting out dorms, activities and medical information for Peak Venture and the Senior Leadership team met to look at children’s books to see how well they were doing - as expected the answer was wonderfully well! You may have seen Mr Edward Longbottom, our new caretaker, around and about school being very active. He has already carried out many repairs and improvements. Phew! What a busy ‘missing Yr6 already’ kind of school! Year 6 and Peak Venture Next week we will lose our fabulous Yr6 for a few days. Mrs Robinson, Ms Britton, Ms Imrie and Mrs Rogers will be accompanying them on our annual residential trip. The week will start with an excited communal breakfast and end with happy but extremely tired children and staff! Good Luck and enjoy! Secret Thank you….. One of our parents has just raised £25 for much needed school funds by doing a random act of kindness. We are very very grateful for any donations we get as they help enormously. It was a very kind and selfless thing he did and we’re very grateful to him – he knows who he is! Money – some important changes Admin staff are having to take money for many different clubs / events at the Welcome Desk. In order to safeguard parents and staff, we are now using a till at the Welcome Desk. You will therefore receive a receipt for any amount of money you pay into school, apart from dinner money brought in on a Monday. Just as in a shop, you will need to check your receipt to make sure that you have been given the correct change. Money can still be sent in with children but will ALWAYS need to be put in a clearly labelled envelope – not just loose in their hand / bag. Unlike shops, we would prefer cheques – these are more secure and easier to bank. No money will be kept in the till overnight. Last week’s Mrs Robinson’s Pop Feedback We asked you: We had a Mega Science Day this week – please chat to your child about it – what do you think? We had 11 replies. Thank you so much to those people for taking the time to respond. The day was obviously enjoyable – a great success! This is what some of you said: • • • • • • • • “Spoke to my daughter about the Mega Science Day. She really enjoyed it and it sounded like a fun and learning experience. Definitely a good idea.” “I think it’s good for all the children to have a fun learning day, something out of the norm. My child is in FS and really enjoyed experiencing something that they don’t normally do; obviously her favourite part was making the peppermint creams.” “It sounded like a great day. My daughter loved telling us all about the activities they did. We don’t usually get so much information. A credit to all the teachers and school for organising it all.” “It sounded very fun and interesting to be involved in.” “My daughters loved the day and talked all night about science and Willie Wonka!” My daughter thoroughly enjoyed Mega Science Day and couldn’t wait to tell me about what she had done. I think it is a brilliant way to unite the children of all year groups by giving them an educational day to share together.” “My daughter loved science day with the bubbles and tasting sweets. She really had fun. My daughter said she really enjoyed the Mega Science Day. She enjoyed the experiments. I think it’s a great idea to do it, gets the children thinking and enjoying science!
