Tiger Tracks A PA C H E E L E M E N T A R Y S C H O O L April 6, 2015 Volume 6, Issue 28 School Arrival Counts this Week The Farmington Safe Routes to school committee will be doing arrival counts at Apache Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. There will be members of this committed noting how students get to school—Walk, bike, bus, or car. This information is helpful as they design programs for our school. Safe Routes to School is a national and international movement to create safe, convenient, and fun opportunities for children to bicycle and walk to and from schools. The program has been designed to reverse the decline in children walking and bicycling to schools. Safe Routes in our community has done International Walk to School Day, Bike Rodeos, and are even responsible for the new, very safe sidewalk East Walkers use to walk up Apache street to the corner of Auburn and Apache! AR ASSEMBLY RESCHEDULED PV ALADDIN FIELD TRIP The AR Awards assembly will be NEXT Friday, April 17th at 1:30 pm. 2nd—5th grade students will be recognized for their reading advancements. Reading Quizzes taken by the end of school on WEDNESDAY APRIL 15th will count towards this month’s awards. Let’s see how many more certifications we can get now that we have an extra week! 1st and 2nd Grade classrooms will be attending Piedra Vista’s presentation of Aladdin on Friday April 17th in the morning. The cost of this field trip is $2.00, which needs to be turned in before April 15th. If you are interested in chaperoning, talk to your child’s teacher ASAP as space is VERY limited for extra participants.
