~ Letter From the Director ~ It has been one year since we began the journey to create a choir in Woodstock, and tonight we are presenting our first concert! The number of people who have supported this endeavor, and the doors that have been opened to us are truly humbling. We have learned that the popular quote, “If you build it, they will come,” truly can be a reality. We are grateful beyond words. Tonight we present our premiere concert, "One Voice." The reason I chose this as our theme was because thirty singers from different backgrounds, ages, and levels took a chance on a new experience. They joined a choir that had no track record. They had no idea what they were in for, or if it would even be successful. They came together to share in their passion for singing and become part of a new community. I can tell you from working with this amazing group of singers that in our short time together, they have truly become One Voice. I am inspired by their enthusiasm and dedication, and that they put their trust in me to direct them. I hope you enjoy the first of many concerts presented by the new, Woodstock Community Choir! ~ Cassandra Vohs-Demann Is Proud to Present “ONE VOICE” Songs of Unity and Diversity ~ Thanks and Gratitude ~ Directed by Cassandra Vohs-Demann We would like to thank Megan Kim and Woodstock North High School for allowing us to use the choir room for our rehearsals for our premiere concert. We would also like to thank the members of the Woodstock Community Choir Vision Committee who helped us to create the foundation and structure for the choir. A special thank you to Stacy Weber and Andrea Isabelli for helping before every rehearsal. Thank you to Nate Grindeland, owner of Mixin Mingle, for providing us with a space for our Community Sing Nights in preparation for the choir. Thank you to all our Sponsors and Friends of the Choir. Thank you to Phil Demann for his support and help. A big thank you to Joe Pesz, Debbie Lehmann, Theron Mattick, and Jen Hannah. Finally, thank you to all of the Woodstock Community Choir members who have spent 12 weeks with us to prepare for this amazing concert. Without you, there would be no choir.
