A hands-on approach will provide a firm grounding in the concepts, tools, and methods you will need to help deliver your organization’s improvement initiatives. Whether you are new to Quality Improvement or looking to deepen your experience and skills, this program will change your perspective on Improvement Science and advance your capabilities as a facilitator and leader in this critical discipline. This weeklong program will develop your skills to work directly with Quality Improvement teams through utilizing exercises in Quality Improvement theory, team facilitation, generation and execution of change ideas, and harnessing data for decision making and leadership. Participants will begin to work through a real improvement challenge facing their team and design a project to improve the situation. There will be an intense focus placed on leadership techniques, both in leading Quality Improvement teams and engaging with organizational leadership. During the course, participants will be asked to design a Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA, or improvement cycle) to run when they return to their organization. After a month’s time, the group will then reconvene for a virtual call where participants will share the outcomes of their improvement cycles, share key learning and insights from implementing their improvement projects, learn from their classmates, and plan the next steps of their improvement journey.
