In addi on to the new rate changes we will also be expanding the current outdoor incen ve program to the in‐
door pools. Beginning in May we will have three indoor incen ve trimesters that will run May ‐ August, Septem‐
ber ‐ December, January ‐ April. During that me indoor team members that a end/complete their required in‐
service & online training, and meet the indoor hourly requirement will be eligible to receive up to $0.75 per
hour worked during that trimester. All posi ons indoor and outdoor will now be eligible for over me begin‐
ning in January 2015.
To help facilitate this change, all current Aqua cs team members will be reviewed in May 2015. All team mem‐
bers will be placed on the new scale by posi on. Please note in the future there will no longer be a automa c
posi on step increase each year and your rate will be ed to your posi on, if for any reason your current rate is
higher then your posi ons salary you will receive the standard CA review in May that year.

Second, this year will bring some more ADA (American’s with Disabili es
Act) changes to some of your outdoor pools. The River Hill Pool Bathhouse
has received a major restroom renova on similar to Kendall Ridge renova‐
ons from 2014.
The Longfellow Pool Bathhouse was expanded and renovated last summer,
and now phase 2 is well under way. The Longfellow decks and drains are
all being completely replaced to help eliminate all the swamps on the deck
a er the rainstorms. In addi on ADA changes are being made to the stairs
into the pool as well as a new beach entry wading pool. Other enhance‐
ments will include new le and coping stone around the pool, shade co‐
vers, and LED deck ligh ng.
We have had a few other construc on projects planned for implementa‐
on before your pools open as well. The first phase of the Hawthorn Pool
upgrades with enhanced restrooms are expected to start before summer,
as well as a ADA beach entry Wading Pool at Faulkner Ridge. We are ex‐
pec ng to start major upgrades to Dorsey Hall but aren’t sure yet if they
will be before the pool opens, or a er the pool closes for the summer be‐
cause we are wai ng on building permits.
Third, we will be con nuing the very well received extended lap swimming season. Star ng on May 11th, we will
begin opening up Steven’s Forest Pool for an extended lap swimming season to help add addi onal lap swim‐
ming hours.
At the end of every summer we run a staff survey on what we can do be er. Two of the most common themes out‐
side of pay rates that popped up again and again, were pool program schedules, and responsibili es of guards vs.
coaches. Susan, Laura, and Kristen have been hard at work looking at all of our Programing from CNSL, Camps, Aero‐
bics, and Masters and are trying to stack our programs be er back to back elimina ng having to bring staff in for
short shi s and to simplify or schedules. We have also decided that we will have two guards at all CNSL prac ces,
and they will be responsible for all the guarding and pool readings. Coaches will s ll be responsible to assist with
guarding in event of a no show, and cleaning up the facility and restrooms before they leave.
As always, our goal is to create a fun, produc ve and SAFE environment that you and our members can enjoy. I look
forward to seeing your applica ons and seeing you all as we prepare for next summer.
It's just around the corner.
