Achieving Success
This Week’s Attendance
Today was Science Day! See overleaf for some photos
of the day. It started with a great assembly led by Miss
Lester, Mr Knight and Miss Burge where the children
witnessed
some
amazing
scientific
reactions.
Endothermic and exothermic; particle theory; solids,
liquids and gasses! Primary science is going places with
aspirational content! This was followed by Year 3 taking
on the role of teachers and scientists and leading
investigations for all classes. All classes continued with
science throughout the day. Children at Atwood have
really come to see science as fun, inspiring and are full of
knowledge!

Let it Glow by Year 3 Belgium Class
The lava flows bright on the crater tonight
Not an Oaluf to be seen
A kingdom of explosion, and it looks like I’m going to scream
The fire is burning like this swirling storm inside
Couldn’t keep it in, heaven knows I've tried
Don’t let them in, don’t let them see
Be the dormant hill you should always be
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know
Well now they know
Let it glow, let it flow
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it glow, let it flow
Turn away and burn the door
I don’t care
What they’re going to say
Let the fire rage on, the heat never bothered me anyway
It’s funny how some magma
Makes everything seem burnt
And the crater that once controlled me
Can’t stay down at all
It’s time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No snow, no ice, no frost for me
I’m free
Let it glow, let it flow
I am one with the fire and ash
Let it glow, let it flow
You’ve never seen me fry
Here I stand
And here I blaze
Let the fire rage on
My lava rockets through the air into the ground
My vent is blowing in burning flames around
And Atwood is lit like a burning furnace
You’ll never put me out, the lava’s out my spout.
Let it burn, let it burn
And you’ll writhe like a match on fire
Let it burn, let it burn
That perfect hill has gone
Here I stand in the light of fire
Let the flames rage on,
The heat never bothered me anyway
