NASHVILLE, TN—As of Wednesday, April 29th, the Tennessee State University
BSN students completed their preceptorship with Ascential Care Partners. These 6
students and their instructor had the opportunity to spend time learning all aspects of
medical case management during their community rotation. The BSN students were
able to shadow nurse case managers throughout the 7week process. The
shadowing process consisted of physician appointments, physical therapy
appointments, and onsite instruction. ACP case managers shared topics that ranged
from Chronic Pain Management to Vocational evaluations. Nurse case managers
were also able to coordinate onsite job visits for the students where they were able
to grasp an understanding of the importance of case management’s assistance with
RTW and Job Placement. Finally they observed a patient care setting in a Nashville
based Health & Wellness Facility. While there, the students were given the
opportunity to experience treatment from a holistic wellness perspective; which
complimented Ascential Care Partner’s philosophy of medical case management.
On Wednesday, April 29th, the TSU students presented their final Case Studies to
our Supervision staff. Our team is pleased with this positive partnership and is
looking forward to further involvement with our medical community in the Middle
Tennessee Area.
