Athletics Canada - Employment Opportunity COORDINATOR – NATIONAL TEAM PROGRAMS Athletics Canada (AC) is the National Sport Organization for Athletics in Canada. Its purpose is to support high performance athletics excellence at the world level and to provide leadership in developmental athletics. Athletics Canada is a not-for-profit, charitable organization operating under a Board of Directors elected by provincial/territorial members. General Objective This position falls under the Athletics Canada National Team Unit and will work under the direction of the National Team Programs Operations Manager. The National Team Unit is an integrated department serving both Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Key Responsibilities: Coordinator Sport Canada Athlete Assistance Program (AAP): assist with creation and distribution AAP criteria document; coordinate carding process for Olympic and Para-Athletics streams Canadian Athlete Insurance Program (CAIP): coordinate insurance processes for all AAP-supported athletes Third Party Funding: communicate third party funding opportunities and coordinate applications with funding partners Anti-Doping Programs: communicate and coordinate athlete whereabouts programs with Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) Communication with Key Partners: Sport Canada; AthletesCAN; Canadian Olympic committee; Canadian Paralympic Committee; Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport Performance Tracking: collect and organize raw data for athlete performance analysis purposes and reporting to funding partners National Team and Camp Coordination: support national staff in the coordination of National Team and Event Group Camps logistics Support Event Group coaches as needed National Team Unit Support Manage uniform ordering process and inventory Maintenance of national team filing system Maintenance of national team athlete database system Website maintenance Administrative support for off-site national team staff Supervision of National Team Intern (where applicable) Maintenance of National Team Policies, Manuals, Guidelines and Forms Candidate Profile Strong computer and database skills Previous sport administration experience is an asset Strong organizational and administrative skills Ability to work with limited supervision Proven to be a team player Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Bilingualism is an asset but is not required Background and knowledge in the sport of athletics and/or para-sport is an asset but not required Applications with salary expectations should be sent in confidence by May 6th 2015 to [email protected] – Please no phone calls.
