Dear Parent / Guardian Exciting news!

Dear Parent / Guardian
Exciting news! - Our school will make history in the Caribbean this year!
We will come together with over 100 other primary schools from every town and village across
our multicultural twin islands to make up a massive choir of over 4,000 children who will sing as
one voice for the T&T Young Voices (T&TYV) concert on Saturday May 16th, 2015.
Conducted by Ms. Lorraine Granderson at the Grand Stand Queens Park Savannah this will be an
unforgettable experience for T&T YV choir and audience alike.
Young Voices is the largest and most exciting children's concert organiser in the world.
Over 1 million primary school students in England and Ireland have already participated in
this massive educational musical experience and now, supported by the Ministry of Arts and
Multiculturalism, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Transport and Digicel, it is now coming
to Trinidad and Tobago for the very first time!
Research shows music improves academic achievements through literacy and language and helps
to develop technical and artistic skills. It also improves behavior and social skills.
The benefits of being in a choir are well-documented: they include team building, breathing
regulation and stress relief to name a few. The benefits of being in the Caribbean’s largest
children’s choir will quite simply be life-changing.
T&TYV will feature international vocal entertainer Randolph Matthews.
BBC London says "If you get a chance to see him, grab it with both hands. You will come away with
a huge grin, inspired & uplifted”.
Also thanks to Digicel, this opportunity for our children to sing together without the pressures of
competition alongside local hit-maker Farmer Nappy and 2015 Digicel Rising Star Neisha Guy can
only serve to boost each choir member’s self-confidence.
You won’t want to miss this.
Think of the sense of pride you and your child will feel when you are able to share their experience
as part of an equally massive audience. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed these months spent rehearsing,
it has been hard work but well worth it.
Make sure you don’t miss out on this opportunity to support your child in person as they make
history. You and your family and friends get first preference on T&TYV concert tickets before they
go on general release to the public at the main Digicel outlets.
If you haven’t already, please fill in and return the enclosed Ministry of Education consent form as
well as the T&TYV ticket and t -shirt order slip below no later than Friday April 17th 2015.
We look forward to receiving your completed forms this week and to seeing you on Saturday May
16th at the Grand Stand Queens Park Savannah.
Yours sincerely
Principal / Music teacher
