At first glance these chapters seem problematic; there’s a record of Paul falling out with Barnabas and the church disagreeing over how to handle the Gentile converts. But isn’t life full of challenges like this? As always, I hope you’ve read ahead to prepare, because with these long chapters, we need to do some individual preparation in addition to hearing the lecture. By now your small groups are flourishing (I hope). We’ve been together long enough so that we should know a bit about each others’ lives beyond our names. Remember that a great small group is as dependent on its members as it is the leaders, for we need you to participate and pray for each other. The teachers are discussing next year’s topics for study and I’m happy to announce that this fall we’ll be doing Proverbs, in a series called Women of Wisdom. Next spring we tentatively plan to go through the gospel of Mark. So we’ll have both Old and New Testament books to study during the 2015-16 year.
