Summer Term
Newsletter 020
9th June 2015
Dear Parents,
Please can I remind all parents about the new arrangements for the
beginning and end of the day while the contractors, Phelan, are on
site building our new classroom and workroom near to the entrance
by the dining room.
Morning Routine
 KS2 will come through the KS1 gates and walk down
beside the hall to the door outside the art room to enter
the classroom corridor.
 Mrs Sales will still greet KS1 children and parents and
stand on the left hand side of the double gates.
 Mrs Day will be on the right hand side of the gates to
greet the KS2 children and take any messages needed for
the teachers.
End of Day routine (To ease congestion just until the end of the
summer term)
 KS1 and Reception will finish school at 3.05pm.
 The main gates will open at 3pm and parents are asked to
move off of the KS1 playground as soon as they have
picked up their child.
 KS2 will come up onto the top playground via the KS1
playground at 3.15pm as usual.
 Parents collecting both KS1 and KS2 children are asked to
move up onto the top playground as soon as they have
collected their KS1 child and wait for their KS2 child.
Children attending Breakfast Club only should walk round to the
back of the dining room and enter by the MUGA.
Children attending clubs before school should meet in the foyer
where they will be met by the adult in charge.
Please can I remind Parents that children should not be on the
school site before 8.45am if they are not attending breakfast club or
a before school club. No balls should be brought to school and used
on the playground before and after school. All children (including
younger siblings) are expected to walk beside their scooter or bike
before and after school while they are on the school site to ensure
that no-one gets bumped or knocked.
Thank-you for your continued support.
SUMMER FÊTE
The school Summer Fête is on Saturday 4th July from 12:00pm to
3:00pm. The Friends of Aveley would be extremely grateful for any
Tombola and Raffle prizes for the event. If you are able to help with
any of the above please bring items to the school reception. If you
would like a stall at the event please contact Sarah Manning (FOA) at
the school. Thank you for your support.

PARKING
Can parents please show consideration to
our neighbours when dropping off/collecting
their children, by not obstructing driveways
in neighbouring roads. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
ROAD SAFETY
We have received reports that children are
not stopping at the kerbside to check for
oncoming traffic in local side streets. Please
reinforce the importance of crossing the
road safely with your children. Explain to
them the need to follow the rules for
crossing the road and to be able to recognise
safer places to cross.
