HELP WANTED
PART-TIME EMPLOYEE
Position:
The Avon Township Assessor’s Office is seeking a part-time employee to work up to 28 hours per week,
starting immediately.
Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to responding to telephone and counter inquiries, responding to
requests for information and assisting the general public, taxpayers, attorneys or other officials.
Accurately maintain paper and computerized records. Create, generate and utilize computer reports to
determine taxpayer’s status and eligibility for various exemptions. Research and record property
transfers. Schedule field inspections and update field cards. Accurately enter building permits,
Certificates of Occupancy, and Certificates of Compliance. Respond to and resolve property owners’
inquiries. Perform other assessment-related matters as they arise.
Qualifications:
This position requires a high school diploma and a minimum of three years experience with; (1) the
assessment/appraisal process, either as a CIAO or a licensed appraiser/associate appraiser; or (2)
building design and construction, such as a licensed architect or licensed building inspector; or(3)real
estate, such as a licensed Realtor or licensed Real Estate Broker. Previous office experience, including
but not limited to using computers, typing, filing, telephone skills, working with the public in a
professional manner, and usual clerical functions, a plus. Applicant must have general knowledge of
current real estate values of Avon Township property and possess the ability to read maps and locate
properties. Must be good at multi-tasking, highly organized, have excellent written and verbal
communication skills and be a team player.
Pay commensurate with experience.
