A TIFFANY TABLE
A beautifully set table is a theater where romance, wit and fascinating
conversation unfold over an entire lifetime. The patterns you select today will
quickly become an intimate part of your family’s life.
Which pieces you choose, and how many, depends very much on your taste,
your lifestyle and your plans for the future. Here are some questions
to consider while making your selections:
What is the size of your family?
Will you be entertaining friends or business colleagues?
Do you plan to have seated dinners?
Will you do buffet entertaining?
Though the actual pieces you choose are up to you, Tiffany recommends
a five-piece place setting for china and flatware. You should also remember that mixing
different patterns is a perfectly acceptable expression of individual style.

A TIFFANY TABLE SET TING
On the opposite page are diagrams for the most commonly used table settings.
Naturally, these are just suggestions and may be adjusted according to your menu.
Napkin placement can vary widely. In a formal setting, it is often centered
on the plate. It is helpful to remember that logic and convenience determine the
position of silverware on the table.

A formal dinner or lunch usually features additional courses and more
than one wine. This setting includes most but not all of the pieces you might need.

by dinner and salad /dessert plates. Silver: formal sterling silver is placed on
either side of the plate in the order in which they are used, from the outside in: salad
or fish fork, dinner fork. Soup spoon, fish knife, dinner knife. Butter spreader on
bread plate, dessert fork and spoon are centered horizontally above the dinner plate.
Crystal glasses: goblet, white wine, red wine, flute.

YOUR TIFFANY CHINA
There is a reason that Tiffany china designs are used and honored worldwide.
The craftsmanship is unsurpassed. The materials are superlative. The designs are
timeless. Over the years, Tiffany china only becomes more beautiful.
Tiffany & Co. offers three kinds of dinnerware.
PORCELAIN
Porcelain is the finest grade of pottery, made of kaolin (china clay),
quartz and feldspar. It is extremely malleable and can be formed into precise
shapes with fine detail. Fine porcelain has varying degrees of translucence.
Most Tiffany porcelain is made in Limoges, France.
BONE CHINA
Bone China is similar to porcelain with the addition of bone ash,
making it the whitest and most durable and chip resistant of all chinas.
The translucence of bone china is remarkable.
EARTHENWARE
Earthenware is fired at a lower temperature and is naturally more porous
and less durable than porcelain or bone china. It is the least formal of chinas
often appearing in whimsical shapes and freely painted patterns that
add personality to casual dining. Tiffany earthenware is often hand-painted
in Italy or France and covered with a fine glaze.

DINNERWARE PIECES
This chart illustrates the customary pieces offered in each pattern. Please note, some
patterns may offer more or fewer selections.
Tiffany recommends that you register for a service for 12 as well as the accessory
serving pieces of your choice. A standard five-piece place setting includes a dinner plate, salad /dessert plate,
bread and butter plate, cup and saucer. You might also consider adding a soup bowl to each place setting.
Many brides and grooms register for extra pieces — for instance, since salad plates usually double
as dessert plates, registering for twice the amount can save you from having to wash dishes between courses.
Remember that individual pieces can be ordered separately.

YOUR TIFFANY STERLING SILVER
In candlelight or breakfast light, nothing compares to the look and feel of Tiffany sterling silver flatware.
And, with regular use, Tiffany sterling acquires a patina or soft luster, so pleasing to the eye.
Tiffany silver is sterling silver. It was Tiffany & Co. that set the .925 sterling standard for American silver in 1851.
In the hand, each piece of Tiffany silver is perfectly balanced with significantly greater heft. Tiffany uses
more silver in its designs. Many Tiffany silver patterns date back to the nineteenth century.
The workmanship in Tiffany sterling is truly remarkable. You will notice in all patterns the
design motif is reprised on the back of the pieces. Knife handles are virtually seamless and not artificially
weighted with sand or other foreign materials.

YOUR TIFFANY CRYSTAL
Tiffany crystal brings both elegance and tradition to the table. There is none
more beautiful. And over the years, this is the crystal that honors every day and is used
to toast those special occasions.
Tiffany stemware and barware is made of crystal, not glass. Crystal is clear
brighter and stronger than glass. The finished product is both a delight to the eye and
a joy to touch. When tapped gently, it rings for the ear!
Some Tiffany crystal can be engraved or etched with a monogram.
With proper care, Tiffany crystal will survive for generations.
