(70% Acrylic/30% Bamboo; 2.5oz/70.8g, 138yds/127m): #0004 Kiwi (A): 1 skein CROCHET INSTRUCTIONS FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Each legwarmer measures approximately 7"/18cm wide x 10"/25.5cm long, before seaming. Notes: Legwarmers will stretch to fit a range of sizes. Size is easily adjusted (see Helpful section). GAUGE In single crochet, 15 sts and 24 rows = 4"/10cm. STITCHES USED Chain (ch), double crochet (dc), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st) NOTES 1. All color changes are made on RS rows. 3. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on One pair size US 8 (5mm), or size to obtain gauge; hook to complete the stitch. Proceed with new color. Carry color not in use up side of piece. Take care to cover carried strands when working cuffs. One pair size US 6 (4 mm) #0003 Sunset (B): 1 skein Stitch marker Yarn needle HELPFUL The size of the legwarmers is easily adapted. To adjust the length, begin with more or fewer foundation chains. To adjust the width, work more or fewer rows, maintaining the stripe pattern. Note that larger sizes will require more yarn. LEGWARMER (make 2) With A, ch 31. Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch acorss, turn—30 sts. Place a marker on this row to indicate RS. Rows 2–4: Ch 1, working in back loops only, sc in each sc across, turn; change to B in last st of Row 4. Rows 5–8: With B, repeat Row 2 four times; change to A in last st of Row 8. Rows 9–12: With A, repeat Row 2 four times; change to B in last st of Row 12. Rows 13–36: Repeat Rows 5–12 three times. Rows 37–40: Repeat Rows 5–8. Fasten off. CUFF With RS facing, join A with sl st at beginning of one side edge. Row 1 (RS): Working in ends of rows across side edge, work 31 sc evenly spaced across, turn—31 sc. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first sc, [sk next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc (shell made), sk next 2 sc, sc in next sc] 5 times—5 shells. Fasten off. Work cuff across other side edge. FINISHING Sew foundation ch to last row and across side edges of cuffs for back seam. Using yarn needle, weave in all ends. Row 1 (RS): With A, knit. Place a marker on this row to indicate RS. With A, knit 5 more rows (for a total of 6 rows). With B, knit 4 rows. With A, knit 6 rows. With B, knit 4 rows. Repeat last 10 rows 4 more times (you should have 6 stripes of each color). With B, BO loosely. CUFF With RS facing, smaller needles and A, pick up and k32 sts across one side edge. Work in 1x1 rib until cuff measures 1"/2.5cm. BO loosely in rib. Work cuff across other side edge. FINISHING Sew cast-on edge to bind-off edge and across side edges of cuffs for back seam.
