Charity Results
The fundraising results are in still
coming in for this years Charity About
Face:
•The Friday Night Charity Casino raised a
total of $140.
•The Saturday afternoon Charity Auction
raised a total of $847.
With a goal to reverse the negative
female self images created by the fashion
industry, and replace it with one of self
worth, one of About Face’s mottos is
“Your mind never goes out of fashion.”
Another auction session is scheduled for
Sunday. Please come and support a very
worthy cause.
Saturday Night Events
Looking for something to do tonight? In addition to the usual events which
include the Dive-In Movies, a Talent Show, a Burlesque Show, a dance, and an Eye
of Argon reading, we have parties:
• Con Suite, Room 327 is open until 11 PM. Our appologies, but the pizza
rumors are not true.
• Loscon 42, Room 331: Chaz Baden is hosting a PB&J Party with additional
menu items of Mac & Cheese at 9 PM and Muffalata sandwiches.
• The Red Room, Room 322: Chris Castro is hosting a reprise of last night’s
party. Have cherry pie & coffee when this Twin Peaks party triumphantly
reopens, then kill off a few Laura Palmer specialty drinks
• BASFA, Room 333: Aetheus is hosting the Bay Area Science Fiction
Association party. This party includes both alcoholic and non-alcoholic
beverages, cheese, chips, and fellowship.
• Convolution 2015, Room 334: Eric Bigglestone is hosting a party for the
areas newest Fantasy, SCI-FI, and geek culture convention. The party starts
about 8:30 PM.
• Fanzine Lounge, Room 335 is open until about 1 AM.
• Leather Tea Party, Room 337: Is open until about 1 AM. Lorie O is hosting
a party that includes a menu of chips, dips, chains, whips, and circus animal
cookies, of course. Wearing black and/or leather is encouraged.

It is with great regret that Just Desserts was eaten by some overzealous diners.
But, in return, we have a FLUXX tournament, with prizes handed out from the
kind people at Looney Labs.

Noon to 1 PM -King of Tokyo
Have you ever watched Godzilla while thinking “Why not me? Why can’t I
terrorize a major metropolitan area?!” King of Tokyo has you covered! Up to
six players each choose a monster, and take turns rolling six dice to invade and
take over Tokyo. Only one monster can lead the charge, but the others will be
more than happy to take that role from you! It takes both patience and fortitude
to be top monster. Do you have what it takes?

Have you ever thought you were psychic? Do you know you friends better
than they know themselves? Get intimate with the Looney Labs card game and
join with up to 10 players to test your skills!

Women of Wonder

Myra Bradwell (1831-1894). America’s first woman lawyer. She was denied
permission to practice law in Illinois after passing the bar exam because of her
gender. In 1892, laws changed, and she was allowed to practice in Illinois and in
the U.S. Supreme Court.
Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini (1850-1917). The first American to become a
saint. Born Maria Frances Cabrini in Italy, she founded the Missionary Sisters
of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In 1889, she relocated to New York City, and in
1909 became a naturalized U.S. citizen. She founded 67 convents, schools,
orphanages, and hospitals in the Americas and Europe. Pope Pius XII canonized
her in 1946, and in 1950 she was named “the patron saint to immigrants.”
