“Releasing The Potential Within All”
I cannot believe how quickly this term
has flown by! The children have had a
fantastic term of learning and
enjoyment and I wish you all a very
Happy Easter.
We are very proud of the children’s
achievements this term and are
pleased to see that the vast majority of
them are reading regularly. If the children read
during the holidays, they can count the signatures
towards their reading stars for the Summer Term.
FOBS EASTER EGG HUNT
This afternoon many of the children took part in an
Easter Egg Hunt organised by FOB’s which the
children thoroughly enjoyed. There were lots of
smiling faces!
We are always very grateful to the members of
FOB’s who work so hard to benefit all the children
in school by way of their fundraising events.
Year 6 Road Safety
Yesterday the Year 6 pupils were visited by one of
the local Road Safety Officers. They completed a
quiz which covered all aspects of Road Safety
including speed limits, stopping distances and the
wearing of cycle helmets. They also had a session
outside where they discussed local traffic issues
including parking and distractions the children may
encounter while walking to school.
Donna, the Road Safety Officer, commented that all
the children behaved perfectly and that they were a
pleasure to work with.
EYFS children with the Easter Bunny!
Comic Relief/Dressing Up Day
Fundraising Update
£191.00 was raised for Comic Relief
and £195.00 for school equipment.
Thank-you to all for your very kind
donations.

Boys Football Match
As the boys Football Team walked
in to Baddow they were greeted by
St.Michaels, their opponents. As
soon as the game had started they
were down by one goal! The final
score was 6-0 to St Michaels, but
thanks to Mr Coldwell and Mr Saunders we all kept
in high spirits.

SKILLS MORNING
Another very successful Skills Morning, organised
and run by Mr Gardiner in his role as P.E. Coordinator, has taken place this morning. We were
blessed with dry weather and there was a lovely
atmosphere with lots of peer encouragement among
all the children.
After collating all the results Goldfinches were
announced as the winners in a special assembly at
the end of the day.
SCHOOL GATES
For the children’s safety, from the 13th April
2015, the school gates will be locked from
8.30 until 9.30 in the mornings and from 3:00
until 3:45 in the afternoons.
Parking for picking up from clubs will be
limited and we would request that there is no
parking on the pavements or double parking.
Of course, those who are entitled to use the
disabled parking will be allowed access.
Thank you for your help in keeping our
children safe.

Kitchen News
When we return from the Easter break we
will be on Week 1 of our new Summer menu.
New menus will be coming home in book bags
this afternoon and will be available on Parent
Pay after the holidays.
As a whole school we are aiming for
97% and above attendance, but we are
not quite there, let’s hope with the
Summer fast approaching and
continued commitment we will be able
to achieve this target. .
Be a Reader” Class Award
On Wednesday Mrs Middleton took assembly to
award the children who have read five
times a week for ten weeks this term
with a bookmark. She also showed a
photo of one of our children taken
while he was reading to his dog curled
up in his basket! Mrs Middleton would
like any other similar photos to display
in the library, any donations greatly
appreciated – thank you.
