Parents, it is very important to administer allergy medication at home unless you have a doctor’s note for the school to administer the medication in school. Please remind your children to wash their hands and face frequently. The testing season is also fast approaching. Students in kindergarten, first and second grade will be taking the annual PALS testing as well as completing end of the year assessments in Science, History, Math and Language Arts. Students in third, fourth and fifth grade will be taking the SOL test in Math, Language Arts, Virginia Studies and Science. Testing calendars will be coming home shortly. Thank you for sharing your children with us as we “Develop the Super Powers in Your Child.” Clint M. Mitchell Principal Expedited SOL Test Retakes The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has approved to allow students in grades 3-8 to retake any SOL test with a failing scale score of 375-399 in all content areas, except for the Writing SOL test. Test retakes will be administered June 12-17, 2015. Ms. Rosenbaum and I will be communicating further information on the expedited retakes once the testing office finalizes all the details. The chicks will be at the school for a few days after they hatch. Come by and visit them during the Book Fair family night on April 30th from 5:00-7:30. Reading family night is the same evening from 6:00-7:00. We hope to see you there! If you are viewing our Press electronically you can click on the link to view a slide show with all the action.
