FROM PROGRAMS
WWW.BELLEWOOD.COM
“A true conservationist is a man who knows that
the world is not given by his fathers,
but borrowed from his children.”
—John James Audubon
As we enter into Spring, we join the world in
celebrating Earth Day as a global holiday.
Here at Bellewood, our residents compliment Earth
Day with their very own Travel the Earth, with
the opening of our Pacific Rim Galleria exhibit
displaying their many World Travels!
Earth Day, originated on March 21, 1970 as a global
holiday to celebrate the wonder of life on our planet.
What could be more appropriate than the first
moment of Spring, when day and night are equal
around the world and hearts and minds can join
together with thoughts of harmony and Earth's
rejuvenation.
Just as a single prayer can be significant, how much
more so when hundreds of thousands of people
throughout the world join in peaceful thoughts and
prayers to nurture neighbor and nature.
For me, celebrating Earth Day and Spring is the
mark of New Beginnings. I get giddy with
excitement as I see the flowers come alive and begin
to bloom, the fragrant air and the night chill that
brings the morning dew. Each new day turns a page
in our book of life.
It is my hope and prayer that we can each take a
moment to reflect and breathe in the warmth of
each new day. Connecting with our neighbors and
making new friendships to join us on our journey.
“The universe is made of stories, not of atoms.”
―Muriel Rukeyser
