CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR
2015 FEDERAL AID PROJECT
GOOSE ROAD
MATERIAL INSPECTION, OFFICE TECH AND DELIVERY OF PROJECT FILES
BENZIE COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION
Sealed bids for Goose Road construction engineering will be received until 1:00 p.m. on June
9, 2015, at the Benzie County Road Commission Office, 11318 Main Street (US-31), P.O. Box
68, Honor, MI 49640, at which time they will be opened and read aloud.
STL 10555-119201A 1.23 mi of hot mix asphalt base crushing, shaping, and
resurfacing, shoulders, signing, and pavement markings on Goose Road from
US-31 southeasterly to Pioneer Road, Benzie County
This project was included in the May 1, 2015 MDOT letting, item 059. This project is to be
constructed beginning July 6, 2015 and must be completed by August 8, 2015. The successful
bidder must have personnel certified in applicable material testing, density control, and office
tech administration. The successful bidder shall:
• Attend pre-construction meeting scheduled for June 16 at 8am
• Attend pre-production meeting
• Sample and test aggregates and HMA materials, as required
• Test materials for compaction and density using a nuclear density gauge
• Take depth checks of aggregate base and shoulder material
• Administer the Field Manager contract, BCRC will prepare IDRs
• Process pay estimates
• Review Certified Payrolls for wage compliance
• Prepare work orders, contract modifications, as necessary
• Deliver complete project file to BCRC, participate in file audit, final closeout
• All work must be coordinated with BCRC
Questions will be accepted until June 2, 2015 and shall be directed to Heather M. Jamison, at
the Benzie County Road Commission Office at 231-325-3051 x207.
Each bid proposal shall be submitted on the provided Bid Form.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the scheduled time for
the receipt of the bids.
All proposals must be in sealed envelopes, plainly marked as to contents and the name of the
bidder. Telephone or faxed bids will not be accepted. The Board reserves the right to accept or
reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularities in the bids, and to award the bid in a manner
deemed in the best interests of the Benzie County Road Commission.
