Cut two 8 ½” x 42” strips. Sub-cut into thirty-five 1 ½” x 8 ½” strips.

Backing- Your Choice
Cut two 52” x 42” Strips. Sew together to make the 52” x 68” back.

Block Assembly
1) Sew one 1 ½” x 2 ½” Fabric F strip to the left side of one 2 ½” Fabric B square. Sew one 1 ½” x 2
½” Fabric I strip to the right side of the 2 ½” Fabric B square (Fig. 1).
2) Sew one 1 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric L strip to the top of the 2 ½” square Fabric B square from Step 1.
Sew one 1 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric O strip to the bottom of the 2 ½” Fabric B square to make one Block
One Center (Fig. 2).
3) Sew one 1 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric G strip to the left side of the Block One Center from Step 2. Sew
one 1 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric J strip to the right side of the Block One Center (Fig. 3).
4) Sew one 1 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric M strip to the top of the Block One Center from Step 3. Sew one
1 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric P strip to the bottom of the Block One Center (Fig. 4).
5) Sew one 1 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric H strip to the right side of the Block One Center from Step 4. Sew on 1 ½” x
6 ½” Fabric K strip to the left side of the Block One Center (Fig. 5).
6) Sew one 1 ½” x 8 ½” Fabric N strip to the top of the Block One Center from Step 5. Sew one 1 ½” x 8 ½”
Fabric Q strip to the bottom of the Block One Center to complete one 8 ½” Block One square (Fig. 6).
7) Repeat Steps 1-6 to make a total of nine Block One Squares.
8) Repeat Steps 1-6 using eight 2 ½” Fabric C squares for the center blocks and same
border fabrics in the same order as the completed Block One Square to make eight
Block Two Squares total (Fig. 7).
9) Repeat Steps 1-6 using nine 2 ½” Fabric D squares and the same border fabrics in
the same order as the completed Block One Square to make nine Block Three squares
total (Fig. 8).
10) Repeat Steps 1-6 using nine 2 ½” Fabric E squares and the same border fabrics in
the same order as the completed Block One square to make nine Block Four squares
total (Fig. 9).
Quilt Assembly
11) Follow Figure 10 to lay out the blocks in seven rows with five blocks in each.
12) Sew the seven rows together to complete the 40 ½” x 56 ½” quilt top.

13) Sew one 2 ½” x 56 ½” Fabric A strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 2 ½” x 44 ½” Fabric A strip to the top and
bottom of the quilt top.
14) Layer and quilt as desired.
15) Sew six 2 ½” x 42” Fabric M strips together, end to end with45° seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in
half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press.
16) Bind as desired.
