BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH
NEWARK, OHIO
Pastor’s Corner
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Happy Easter! Today we celebrate with great joy the
Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today we proclaim that death
has been conquered, that sin no longer reigns. Today we
celebrate the victory of the Cross, the triumph of love over
death and light over darkness.
I wish to offer a warm welcome to all of our elect and
candidates who have entered the Church at the Easter Vigil.
This weekend is truly a weekend of new life as we celebrate
the power of God’s grace.
I wish you and your loved ones a most blessed Easter.
Please plan on attending our Divine Mercy celebration
next Sunday at 3:00 p.m. The second Sunday of Easter is
designated as “Divine Mercy Sunday.” After attending Mass,
I hope you will come back to church and experience this
wonderful devotion to Mercy.
God bless,
Fr. Wilson

Calling All Cooks! Share your good cooking with the
residents of St. Vincent Haven! St. Vincent Haven is a
26 bed emergency/transitional shelter for homeless men
18 years and older. Each evening dinner is prepared for
the Haven by volunteer cooking teams (in their homes) and
brought to the shelter. Teams are generally 3-4 persons and
usually cook just once a month. Teams can use food from
the Food Pantry Network in the meals. We currently have a
couple of evenings open and need your help. To form a team
or for information, call Linda Berger at (740) 670-0822 or
email: [email protected].
Over the past 5 years, St. Vincent Haven has provided
over 35,000 nights of safe shelter and more than 80,000 meals
for over 800 residents. Our goal is to move our residents from
homelessness to self-sufficiency in their own housing. Check
our website at www.svdphaven.org.
EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD
The Holy Name Society would like to thank all of the people

perform the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. Proceeds
from these meals will go to further these goals through the
education of our children at Blessed Sacrament School in the
reverence for the Sacred Names of God and Jesus Christ.
Thank you all.
