Our annual whole school FUN RUN
was once again a great success. Not
only was it a great day for all to get
out & enjoy the exercise, we raised
almost $9000. It was great to see over
600 active students run around the
lake with staff joining in. Thank you to
everyone who collected sponsorship
money and a big thank you to all the

Mooroopna Dental Practice Visit BSPS
Grade 2’s were lucky
enough to have a
visit from a dentist
and dental nurse
from Mooroopna
Dental Practice.
Doctor Dan taught
us all about looking
after our teeth and
what we need to do
to STOP cavities!!!
We need to brush our teeth twice a day, floss our teeth and make
sure we visit the dentist regularly! Nurse Jas read us a book called
'Danny goes to the dentist'. We had heaps of fun and even got a
showbag and a 'Brush your teeth' challenge.
Thanks Mooroopna Dental Practice!

From the Principal
Dear Parents
News around the School
Celebration of learning
Anzac Respect
Our assembly leaders conducted a very moving ANZAC
celebration at the school assembly and are to be
commended on the work they did. Thanks to all who
donated rosemary as each student received a sprigg
with the words “Lest we forget.
Molly Jack and Siobhan represented Bourchier Street
Primary School at the 11am memorial service on
ANZAC day here in Shepparton. Our school thanks
them for taking the time to show respect to those who
fought for our country.
Fun Run
Congratulations to all of our Bourchier Street students
on their efforts in our annual Fun Run last Friday. This
event has raised nearly $9000 which will go towards our
school grounds. It is only through fundraising that
Bourchier Street has amazing grounds for our students.
Thank you all for this support.
Please do not send your
child to school in
ballet/skate/flimsy shoes.
Your children's feet are
still growing and the bones
in their feet, still developing
so you need well supported
shoes that are properly fitted to students feet.
Get the punctuality habit. Children
need to be at school by ¼ to 9 when
the first bell goes and they go inside
to get organised.
Being punctual shows respect and consideration for
others. Punctuality also shows you have self-discipline
and organisational ability.
The best of intentions
But how annoying is it when you don't intend to be late
but somehow you just never seem to be on time?
Of course everyone can be late for an appointment if
circumstances really do go against them - there's a huge
traffic jam, the phone rings etc. This kind of thing may
not be unavoidable but I'm talking about general bad
time keeping. If you are on time 8 times out of 10 then
you are a punctual person, but if you are late more often
than this then your punctuality could do with a helping
hand.
Reasons for poor punctuality
Maybe you never seem to leave yourself enough time
and always seem to underestimate just how long you'll
take to arrive. Perhaps you end up trying to beat the
clock on the way to your appointment and arrive
stressed and apologetic. Being more punctual is all
about good planning and organisation and knowing
when to act.
The benefits of improved punctuality
School Uniform
Our school uniform policy states that shoes are to be
sensible and functional.
Daily, children are involved in physical activities that
require the correct footwear to be worn with example
below:
When you are more punctual then everyone benefits
including you. People like knowing and working with
reliable people because they know they can depend on
them.
Quote: Don’t let the best you have done so far
be the standard for the rest of your life
Remember to smile and enjoy your week!

Bourchier under 6 Eagles played
another great game this week. There
were some great shots, passes, goals
and defending with the whole team trying their hardest and
never giving up. Well done Maelan on his great save,
throwing his whole body on the line to save a goal. Great
job all of you.
This week’s awards went to William & Casey.
Well done boys.
UNDER 7 BOURCHIER GOLD
Well done to Bourchier St Gold Under 7 team, on a
fantastic game on Saturday.
You played well together as a team and kicked 3
goals, one by Micah, Mason & Charlotte.
You have all improved already since your last game, and I
look forward to seeing what you can all achieve this
season with the determination you all show.
Awards went to Micah, Mason & Charlotte.
U7 BOURCHIER EAGLES
The boys had a great time and dominated for most of the
game. Their skills and teamwork are improving each week
and it's great to see that they are really enjoying
themselves. Noah Catanzariti kicked a great goal from mid
field in the first half and Patrick Mahon was best on field
kicking 5 goals and doing some great attacking. Well done
also to Sam, Seth and Riley, well played boys.
U 8 BOURCHIER EAGLES
Another great game of soccer by the boys on the
weekend. Great use of your body Eli to defend and block
the ball. Bailey worked hard and put his body on the line
multiple times throughout the game. Awesome work in the
goals by Ty and Corben. Awards: Aiden, Hayden and
Bailey.
U 10 BOURCHIER EAGLES
The Bourchier Eagles played a great game on
Saturday. It was a very tiring game without any
subs. They all played their hearts out until the end and
never gave up. There were some great kicks by all and
some amazing attacking and defending. Great use of
the new game play to guys. Great sportsmanship was
shown by each and every player. It was great to see well
done guys.
This week’s awards went to Jack and Jasmine.
U10 Bourchier Gold
This week our team work was outstanding and our
defensive line was fantastic, our attacking was spot on and
we were nearly across the line on so many
occasions. You all played bravely and fought hard
especially missing a few players this week and being short
on the pitch. You did us all proud holding your heads up
high and never giving up. This weeks awards went to
Danielle, Seth and Brodie, well done to the entire team.
U12 BOURCHIER EAGLES
Played against Grahamvale Gunners on Saturday, and the
team put in a good effort. We will work harder at training to
get better results. Big thank you to our award winner Didak
for his effort and support to his team. Well Done to team
Eagles Under 12!

ABSENCES
Bourchier Street have a policy “It is not OK to be Away”. Non attendance disrupts learning and
relationships. Ensure your child is ill, not just tired, before keeping them home. The Department
of Education and Early Childhood Development requires us to keep accurate computer records
of student absences and reasons for absence. If your child is absent please provide a written
note, (no need to phone school) or complete the slip below. Students need to be at School by
8.45am and if your child is late to school, you must sign them in at the front office so we can alter
the absent record.
