EMPLOYEE NEWSLETTER
ISSUE NO. XI
MARCH 2015
CORRECTION!
In last month’s newsletter, Tim Knabe was thanked for all the hard work he put into the break room in
the inpatient wing. Inadvertently, CHRIS COONROD was omitted from that piece. Chris put a lot of hours and
hard work into that project, among others, and should be commended for all he did! THANK YOU CHRIS!
45 YEARS!
SHERRYL SHANNON marked her 45th year working for Boyd Healthcare Services in the month of
February. We are incredibly grateful for all she has done, the many hours of relentless work she
has put in, and look forward to having her as part of our team for many more years to come!
MURDER MYSTYER DINNER
Tickets are now on sale for the Foundation fundraiser Murder Mystery Dinner, “Murder at Bunny and
Clyde’s”. The dinner will be served by Hamilton’s Catering at the Knights of Columbus Hall on March 28, 2015
with doors opening at 5pm. Tickets are $40 each and available for purchase from any of the following
locations: People’s Bank in White Hall, Farmers State Bank in White Hall, Greene County
Treasurer’s Office, Bell’s Gym in Hardin, or Administration Office at Boyd Hospital. There are

FROM THE HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE
Just a reminder if you get a new phone number or cancel your house phone, please
inform both myself and your Supervisor. Recently there were issues when we were unable
to contact an employee because of a phone number change.
Lunch Hour: You have a thirty minute lunch break, the thirty minutes start when you
leave your work area. Example: if you drive up town and get lunch and are gone fifteen
minutes, you have fifteen minutes to eat your lunch. Please remember each time you leave the
facility you have to clock out. This does not affect the outlying clinics.
Open enrollment is April 1st for health, dental and vision. Watch for details at the time clock.
C.E.O. CORNER
I want to thank the nursing staff for working together to cover the shifts. I realize that we have had
some nurses resign their full time jobs, but we are looking to replace as needed.
I want to welcome Rosemary Staten, NP and Dr. Shawn Fry. They will be working at
the clinics in North County and Rosemary will help us out on weekends here at Boyd.
Tim, Chris and Nathan have done a great job fixing up the x-ray area. It is coming along
nicely and will soon be done.
I realize it has been a challenge to keep the Hospital entrance warm since the door is not
working properly. We ordered a new door over 4 weeks ago, but the company ordered the
wrong size and it opened the wrong way. I’m sure by the time we get it in the weather will be
nice.
I want to thank everyone that helped keep the walks and areas free of snow and ice.
It takes a team to keep the hospital going and I feel we have a great one.

E.A.T. SALAD LUNCHEON
The annual Employee Action Team Salad Luncheon will take place on April 1, 2015 in the
Reisch Dining Room 11am-1pm; we would like to remind all employees to please bring a
salad to contribute and help spread the word to have a great turnout!
PURSE RAFFLE
The E.A.T. purse raffle will be drawn on March 17, 2015 at 1pm in the Employee Dining Room. Please
be sure your department has sold their allotment of tickets and turned the money into Tobi Miller. Thanks!
UNIFORM SALES
Scrubs and Beyond will be in the Reisch Dining Room on April 17 from 7am-3pm with a variety of sizes,
styles, and shoes. Everything is 10% off and Boyd Employees can do
payroll deduction; this sale is also open to the public for anyone else that
may be interested, so please tell your friends and family that work in any
medical field (veterinary, dentist, nursing home, other hospitals, etc.).
WRITE IN
Roger Campbell would like to promote adding Donna DeWitt’s name as a “write
in” on the school board elections coming up; he feels she has done a stellar job and
would love to see her be re-elected.
