They were separated by President L H Johnson of the Baptist Pastors Conference to highlight the Baptist fellowship as an extension of the Simultaneous Revival. It provided an opportunity to expose new Pastors and their preaching gift to the City of Columbus. It reminds us of the high priest sprinkling blood before and upon the mercy seat seven times (Lev. 16:14). Seven, being the number for spiritual perfection, the 7 Last Words stand as echoes and reminders of the redemptive work of Christ. Each word challenges us to have confidence in the Word of God when life seems hopeless and helpless and sheds light on the true spirit of service which is to present their bodies as living sacrifices holy and acceptable unto God.
