has 23 fabulous projects done with peyote and Right Angle Weave. I love the
uniqueness of these pieces and the rivoli sets are just gorgeous. My favorite is the
night star.. I can't wait to make it, Her directions are great and the pieces are
spectacular. Hardcover from Lark with 127 pages.

Classical Elegance by Maggie Meister. $27.95. Wow, this gorgeous hardback
has 20 designs in it. She combines stitches to create some stunning and unique
designs. For instance the Antonia earrings combing rosettes with right angle weave
tubes and are embellished with rows of peyote. The shapes she has been able to
achieve are astounding!!!
New addition to the Dutch Series: Beaded Treasures by Anja ScholtmanBakkenes, $12.99. This has many gorgeous netted centerpieces and bracelets.
The instructions are printed in 4 languages. The thread paths are very clear and in
full color. The beads used include delicas, size 11/0 and 15/0 seed, bicones, and
faceted. Nice!!! 48 pages.
Tila Beads by Alice Korach, $16.99. This has bracelet and necklace patterns
using the new 2 hole Tila beads. ( yes I am getting them!) You get very detailed
instructions with excellent diagrams to make some neat jewelry. There is even a
little pillow key fob. My favorite project is the Herringbone bracelet.. very neat!
Netting Panels by Maddy Kuijper, $12.99. This is the latest in the Dutch Series.
EXCELLENT diagrams and thread paths. You get a lot of really different ideas to
use netted panels. Very pretty! My favorite pattern is for a little purse charm. Just
adorable.
Sherry Serafini's Sensational Bead Embroidery $24.95
What a great book.. she has so many wonderful tutorials on necklaces, earrings
and bracelets that I had to look thru it 3 times! There are more than 2 dozen
inspiring designs with very well written instructions. The eye candy section is also
fabulous! I was pleased to see some of my friends work.. Go Yoli! :-)
Beading Across America $21.95. Wow! This came in WAY earlier than
anticipated. It's a wonderful book with 30 projects from bead artists all across the
country. There are some fabulous projects by some very talented artists. I also love
the fact that the artist bio gives you some insight. AND the best part is I know a lot
of these gals.. hey.. we should do a book signing!!
Bead Tube Jewelry by Nancy Zellers, $19.95.This book has over 30 necklaces,
bracelets, and earrings that are constructed with peyote and brick tubes. Not to
mention over 75 bead tube patterns! This has some really innovative ideas on how
to use the tubes that I have never seen before. You get very thorough and well
done instructions on how to bead the tubes and then loads of ideas on how to use
them. Excellent!
Julia S. Pretl's Big Book of Bead Work, $24.99. ( WITH DVD!) This has 32
projects for adventurous beaders. This is a compilation of projects from Julia's 3
previous books. The projects range from beginner to advanced with very precise
directions and graphs. The DVD can be viewed either on your TV or computer. You

can watch up to 20 video tutes which provide visual instructions for making beaded
bags. Or use the tools on the DVD to print out patterns, blank worksheets and more.
I think that is a GREAT idea for the visual learner... and well worth the price. I love
her work.
The Big Book of Beading Patterns $21.95. This is from the publisher of Bead &
Button magazine and has loads of goodies in it! You get patterns for peyote, right
angle weave, square stitch, brick, herringbone and loomwork designs. There are
100 patterns + 2 bonus projects! The graphs are all in color and range in theme
from flowers to mythological creatures. Great book of patterns!
Endless Sparkle by Aimee Carpenter, $19.95. I really like this book! You get
projects for 12 different crystal components and 17 finished jewelry projects
including earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, and headbands. Nothing majorly
hard.. but some very nice pieces. My fave are the little butterflies.. so cute!
Beadweaving with Cabochons by Marie Geraud, $19.99. Wow! This has 37
designs. You get some gorgeous projects that use stones and beads with seed
beads to create fabulous jewelry. The instructions are very detailed and the
diagrams are excellent in this hardcover book with 80 pages. ( I am trying to find
parts and pieces for this!!)
The Jewelry Architect by Kate McKinnon $26.95. This is a book and DVD set!
You will learn how to merge beadwork, wirework, metal clay with traditional
metalsmithing. A wonderful journey with mixed media! 143 pages. DVD 60 minutes.
Creating Glamorous Jewelry with Swarovski Elements by Jean Campbell, $25.
Wow... Classic Hollywood designs with crystals! You get patterns for modern
reproductions of classic glitzy designs worn by the likes of Sophia Loren, Dorothy
Dandridge, Elizabeth Taylor and more! Gorgeous stuff! Great instructions 144
pages.
Cookbook: Tennessee Hometown Cookbook, $16.95. This is not a bead book but I
thought I would let you guys know about it in case you are a collector like me. It has
some great recipes and little blurbs about different places in our state. Dang it tho, my
possum stew recipe didn't make the cut! Only 2 left!

This is a great magazine dedicated to Native American history and beadwork.
Bead & Button Favorites Summer 2011, $7.95. This is the latest collector' special
issue from Bead & Button. You get 20 all time favorite projects with 5 new ones.
All kinds of techniques from chain maille to stitching. Great issue. The Tila earrings
on the cover are just gorgeous.
Cross Stitch & Bead Weaving #84 $12.99. This is the Christmas issue and it's
loaded with cute designs. I LOVE the little teddy bear soldier earrings. They are just
adorable. I think I will make some for our show in November. Great patterns.. very
well done as usual!
Belle Armoire Jewelry June/July/Aug 2011, $14.99. This is the earring issue. Lots
of neat articles including a Vintage Inspired Collaboration, Romantic Take on Resin,

Designer Collection of Robert Dancik and much more. There are a couple projects
that use seed beads but most are larger things. I have to say though the jewelry in
this issue is very intriguing!
Favorite Bead Stitches 2011 $14.99. This one from Beadwork has over 55
jewelry making stitches, skills, and techniques. You get patterns for 23 necklaces,
15 bracelets, and 3 earrings. Also included are tips from top designers. AWESOME
Projects... a must have mag!! I love it.
Crystals Spring 2011 $7.95. This one from Beadstyle has over 50 all new

Creative Jewelry Vol. 6, $6.99. This has 50 trendy designs from earrings in minutes to
easy bracelets. Lots of super easy stringing projects... instant gratification.
Australian Beading, Vol. 1 #1, $8.95. This one has designing a bead for kids with
cancer, Nautical summer style necklaces, Oriental Jumpring appeal, Precious Metal
Magic and more. This is a beautifully done magazine.. lots of eye candy. Several good
articles including one on Lovely Lucite beads. There is a crocheting project and several
stringing projects. It also contains lots of wire projects that include lampwork beads.
There is one woven crystal pendant pattern that is neat. but the drawings are crude.. it's
surprising because the magazine is well done.. hmm.. PREMIER Issue! ( I am down to 1

I have a really neat Crafty Caddy from Darice. It retails for $6.99 and I normally

I am on the fence about ordering the Tulip needles.. they are pricey but I have
heard a lot of good feedback. But I mean would you pay $7 FOR ONE size 13
beading needle? You would have to lock it up at night... LOL. ;-)

I have some great new Foam Kumi disks from Beadsmith. These are only $6
compared to $14 for the other brand.

The Kumihimo Disc is six inches in diameter and made of 3/8 dense foam. The disk
creates a rounded braid. Now with English instructions!
Square

The Thread Zap 2 is great tool for quickly burning/cutting thread ends very close
to beadwork. It is powered by a single AA battery (NOT included). When the button
is pressed the tip heats up. Touch the tip to a thread and the thread is melted away.
Also works great for getting rid of stray frayed threads. Replacements tips are
available. ( I just tried mine and it works GREAT.. what a great price!)
Replacement Tips for the New Zapper II. You get 2 in a package for $3. Wow..

Twirl a Ring $5. This is a jump ring maker that connects to any power drill. The
multi sized mandrel makes 3 sizes of jump rings, 3, 5 and 7MM. It works with 12 to

I have some great new shaped Mag Locks!! These are 11MM and much more
interesting than my plain ones. As you know, Mag Lock is the Cadillac of the
magnetic clasps. I love em. $4 gold or silver color.
In Sherry Serafini's new book on page 37 (Bee Bracelet), she talks about using
clear acrylic bubbles or domes to put over an image to make a custom cab for a
focal point. I got these and I think they will work. I only ordered a few and some
have already sold.
