You will learn to be able to identify adaptations in organisms and be able to explain how these adaptations help the organism to survive. You will learn to understand the advantages and disadvantages of different sources of renewable energy. You will show your learning by producing a model of your allocated/chosen organism and writing a full description of how it is adapted for its survival. Your teacher will have a list of organisms that you can choose from. If you have a different organism in mind, you should check with your teacher first before starting your project to ensure that nobody else is already doing the same plant or animal. You will show your learning by presenting a comparison of different renewable energy sources and deciding which source we should be developing more in the UK. Successful work will show a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of the different sources of renewable energy. This could be presented in a table or other format. In addition, you will need to decide which energy source we should be increasing the use of in the UK and prepare a full description of why you have chosen that resource. Successful work will include a model of your organism showing all adaptations clearly and a written description of the features your organism has that help it to survive. You should also include a fully labelled diagram of your organism. Outstanding learners will include an explanation of HOW each feature aids its survival. This homework is expected to take you approximately 2 hours to complete.
